Accessing Crimson Wilderness not working

Hi everyone,

I read up on how to access the wilderness and that you need to use the scroll and what not.
but there is no way opening no matter what I do.

What am I doing wrong?

- used the vending machines
- went to the howling wind
- used the scroll

If you've used both vending machines, gone to the area with the wind, and used a lifting scroll, a trapdoor should appear nearby. When you interact with it, you need to use a key, and then you get the item to access the Crimson Wilderness.

It sounds like you can't find the trapdoor, so either you're using the lifting scroll in the wrong place or you need to look around some more.

As Velorien mentioned, are you using the scroll close to the spot where you HEAR whistling
? I would turn up my audio and walk around everyone to make sure you find it.

At least after you find it the first time, you don't need to use a lifting scroll again for future runs

Thanks for the answers, yeah I basically stopped right where I heard the wind and used the scroll :/

i tried it two more times since my post and no luck - I feel really stupid 🤣

I suppose there's an off-chance that it's in some really unlikely spot. Mine eventually turned out to be behind the boss, and I was furious.

When I got there for the first time it was already revealed, no need for a scroll. Possibly because I'd previously paid the hedgehog 2 credits to skip to the end of the area? That could be a workaround if it's not findable otherwise.

Hedgehog is unrelated.

IIRC, once you use the scroll to reveal the locked gate, you don't need to do that again for your save file. You definitely still need to use the vending machines, and I think you still need the key, but you do not need to keep using the scroll.
