Why can't I enable auto-run?

Running should be the default, even if I have to enable it in the options menu.

There's no reason to slow-move around the map; having to manually tap run everytime I do anything is just... not fun. Please let me enable auto-run.

If you click the minimap, you can warp to pulsating waypoints on the map. This basically obsoletes distance travel on foot.

True, but you can't warp to each node until you find it - meaning there is travel distance on foot. It's just, if I don't tap the run button after every time I've opened a menu, warped to a new place, etc; I just move significantly slower for no benefit.

Alternative argument - let's remove the run button, it serves no purpose in the game. The default move speed is more than enough to play the entire game, so why have a run button at all? You can warp to pulsating waypoints on the map, so that obsoletes having a run button as well.

When you enable "quick progress" mode you get auto-run and it reveals the whole map aside from stuff locked behind fights
