Phase two. Usually I can manage the first few rounds, using Debug to push Deflect up to manageable levels of damage, but eventually there's so many swords it becomes hard to manage, and I can't manage the Deflect mechanic anymore as I end up with bad draws and I have to burn everything in hand in order to survive, just to be sliced open by swords since by then I don't have Lucy's skill anymore (I use it only when there are 4 swords).
That and honestly my horrible luck. By then Charon still had a normal Attack card despite being max level, I couldn't find her core Self Harm card (the one that damages enemies when allies suffer harm or heal), Mori's Become Flat only arrived at the worst possible moments. Charon was a sitting duck with mostly Pain related cards.
I buy skill books when I see them because I don't want to be forced to level past 3. The Infinite Skill Book from the Library event is my last-ditch effort to fix someone's skill set. I can usually hammer out something workable by the end of White Graveyard. Usually.
Before the fight, have your healer fix an AoE healing skill.
Azar's first phase needs to go down by turn 4 at the latest. I usually do so by turn 3. Use Lucy's sword-clearing skill once, at most. That will leave at least three for his second phase.
Deflect works by going up or down depending on the mana cost of the skill you used and where it was in relation to Deflect (skills above Deflect move it up, while skills below move it down). You can get away with a skill or two above Deflect when the turn ends, but don't make it a habit. Focus on getting Azar's health down, with the swords being collateral damage. You'll most likely have to wait a turn before using Lucy's Assault. Assuming that you use Lucy's skill three times, every other turn, that gives you six turns to defeat Azar.
For phase three, kill the swords as evenly as possible. Once the swords are down, use any remaining mana to heal up before finishing Azar for good. I don't have much to say here, because if my team was able to handle the first two phases, they usually don't struggle here.
Might as well try Ironheart DPS then.
I was having a very good run with Momori/Johan/Joey, with very good artifacts. However, none of the offered choices for a fourth member had synergy with the team.
