So, is there some trick to reliably getting this? You need a specific rare from each of the twins, and most sources of rares only display one choice per character, so the odds are bad. And speculatively taking one half is very bad, considering how much you are losing by not picking some other normal rare.

They aren't too horrible on their own, especially the party wide heal. But yeah I've stopped taking them completely unless it's for a specific challenge run I gave myself for fun.

It is really good in the "All skills gain once" challenge run option. Since there every boss gives you a golden skillbook, and characters can have multiple rare skills.

It gives the potential for a godly dream tier combo in general though which is fun. If you get both the skills and "starts at the top of your hand in battle" skill enhancement on both of them, you are golden.

What I tend to do is try to take Tears of the Moon if it's available, because I find Helia's rare skills are generally better than Selena's if it comes down to picking ones that won't give Selenelion and Tears of the Moon is still useful. That said, you have 2-3 more opportunities to get a rare skill book after the first depending on how clever you are with events and finding hidden chests, and on top of that remember the plethora of other ways to get a character's rare skill, temporarily or otherwise.

Temporary rare skills are probably the easiest way to get Selenelion. Other than that, get really good at locating the secret chest and hope it has another golden skill book. Personally, I prefer going for Eclipse or Solar Storm since those can be built around with normal skills and just leaving Selenelion to the rare occasions where the stars align and make it happen.
