Black Fog Relics
I thought these things were a pretty big meme, but I had a run recently where:
-Glowing Stone (nullify pain damage and enemy speed gained from Black Fog)
-Dark Magician's Skull (Black Fog turn halved, when Black Fog arrives, all enemies take a debuff for +25% damage taken)
-Fog Totem (When Black Fog arrives, restore all allies healing gauge, and all allies gain healing gauge protection).
...all fell into my lap by Bloody Park 1 and it was the most free run I've ever had. If you pass on these things, I suggest you try to line these up just once, it's hilarious.

I though it seemed like if you got the Glowing Stone and the Dark Magician's Skull in the same run they'd be quite good, but...it's hard to commit to one of them, because they're both kinda useless without the other.

They're such an absolute pain the ass to obtain. I've never actually done a black fog run as a result. There's a fourth one that you can get, I think from the Parade Tank boss - the Firecracker Cannon Ball. Deals 40 damage to all enemies upon the arrival of the black fog. Not exactly much use in boss fights, but it'll help you meme your way through the early game trash mobs if you shove it in a vault.

They're a meme because lining things up like that is an ask. It's the same logic with using the twins' high mana build to enable Phoenix Kick.

If I get them for free, I set them up for a while, but always trade them out for something better. I mean, the only thing that is a real threat anyway is the bosses (or cursed encounters if you're unlucky). And there's no fog at bosses.

The problem is, this game is, as of now, a damage racing game. You compete with your opponents to see if you kill them before they kill you, and if you can stay healthy before they die or get shielded by some lame ass mechanics. Any boss or even monster that could even threaten your team punishes you heavily for pacing out your moves, and not killing them faster than you kill them. If this was say, Slay the Spire, where delays and stalling are not punished as hard, your build might be niche.
What's more, for every one of these relics you keep, you lose out on another relic that might even slightly help you kill faster. According to my memory, at most 3 bosses DON'T punish you for stalling even a little bit, and the hard ones always dunk you hard for stalling. I never lost a fight due to not lasting till the fog, every time it's because I couldn't kill the boss fast enough.

There actually is still a fog timer for bosses. It's just set so high that you oftentimes won't reach it even with Dark Magician's Skull.
