Favourite team
So i'm curious, which team have worked best for people?
Having "cleared" the end "end" boss once i found a certain team working exceptionally well together and wonder what synergies you guys found.

Anyway, on to my prefered team that pretty much breezed throught the levels.

First out we have:

Silverstein, he's a heavy hitter best utilized for single targets (ergo single bosses goes down fast), his bread and butter is the S.P.O.R.T.S ability that marks an enemy and deals extra damage to it every two hits. Another useful trigger for the ability is that every sixth stack of S.P.O.R.T.S allow for an extra card to be drawn. I found coupling him with crit hit/dmg equipment worked especially well.
As for skills mainly riccochet, grapeshot blast and close quarters, one snipe can also be useful despite the delay.

Second is: Joey, arguably the best consistent healer in the game as most of his heal skills are h.o.t (healing over time). His passive create potions are soso but i didn't bring him for the potions.
Skills for him were mainly heal skills with two support skills, biotic field, healing vapor and healing potion all being h.o.t skills, i also used chemical weapon as a support skill for the heavy hitters (it was especially useful for Silverstein as his S.P.O.R.T.S for some extra dot dmg) I would advice getting the protecting gas ability as well as it blocks certain enemy powers. It's situational thought so its usefulness can vary.
For him, heal power enhancing equipment is a must to get the most out of his heals.

Third in the lane is: Miss Chain, gotta love that chainsaw wielding pyromaniac, boosting a good deal of health and being pretty unkillable when her Buurnnn! ability kicks in she's an awesome tank that also deal a good deal of dot dmg. Bazuum, play with fire and combined arms as well as fire ground were my prefered skills for her, leave it to me is also good to draw aggro to her when your other partymembers are in a pinch.
To increase her survivability i discarded any dot dmg and went with health and armour equipment.

And last but not least: The insane in the membrain crazed berzerker Heinz. Never liked starting with him but in late game he's a beast. His Madness ability lets him attack another enemy after killing one so he's a good sweeper and coupled with S.P.O.R.T.S nothing is left alive after a few attacks from him. I made it simple regarding skills, mutilate, end of the line and bloodstorm, maybe throw in a detect weakness into the mix if there aren't that useful equipment for him.

Speaking of equipment, power baby. Just outfit him with strenght boosting items, accuracy be damned, we dont need that when Miss Chain cuts away the enemy defense. His job is to clear away annoyances and set up Silversteins S.P.O.R.T.S triggers.

Anyway, that's my team to have me cheering in my seat when i FINALLY!!! took down that godamn LAST?? boss.

Oh, and last thing. Relics, honestly there were only one useful one in my lineup. The Pocket watch of chaos that lets you cast the first skill every round for no cost. That one helped out a lot to keep skill management running like a... clock.

So what teams have everyone else been favouring in their runs?

I had a pretty fun run recently with Charon, Lian, Joey, and Miss Chain. Charon and Joey melted faces off with DoTs and DoT-augmented skills, while Lian worked point-defense and Miss Chain mopped up the rest (ultimately lost, though.)

I do enjoy the Silverstein//Miss Chain/Joey/x team, but lately I've been building up my understanding of the lower tier characters. Minutes ago I ruined a pretty promising run where I used Trisha, the shield guy (suddenly forgot his name, aside from 'iron'), Pressel, and Sizz. Not the best team, but I feel like I can put more faith in Trisha and shield guy, now. Hopefully soon I'll finally see what's beyond a certain scythe-wielding boss.

I find most enjoyable any team that has Huz+Sizz. It allows for versatility of picking damage/debuff skills on either or both of them, while providing enough healing, and double safety of healing wounds and healing gauge protection.

Ironically I've been having a blast with the archer dude (forgot his name; his fixed ability can be recast after using a skill that costs 1 or more) and Joey... Boosting him with chemical weapon then using flaming arrows you can quickly stack up huge amounts of dots on all enemies at once (poison because of chemical weapon and burn from flaming arrows which then puts a burn enchant on his own arrows causing the fixed arrow to also start applying poison and burn)....then just use heinz to mass demolish anything....

having said that....I'm fairly new to the game and haven't had much luck with getting Miss Chain or have many of the other characters unlocked yet...but Joey, Heinz and the archer dude got me as far as the 4th boss on my second run and I'm having a hard time trying another team because of their synergy....

I love starting off with Pressel and Trisha. Gameplan is for Pressel to invest into Shining Pillar or First Class to Heaven with Trisha getting as many Mirror Images as possible. The Shining Pillar strat needs something to counter taunts, so I either draft AOE or Ignore Taunt for the 3rd/4th character. First Class to Heaven ignores taunts, so I go for AOE here.

My last run had Ironheart and Azar to round out the team using the Shining Pillar build. Ironheart works really well due to his passive, Shining Pillar, and Weapon Breaker being basic and ignoring taunt. Azar had many ignore taunt skills so he was useful for the last fight.

Finally cleared the game for the first time with a similar team to the one I mentioned before: Charon, Lian, Joey, Azar. Charon and Joey melted everything in sight with DoTs while Lian intercepted and Azar sniped with small combos. I actually managed to take out the very last boss on my first attempt with this party, with Lian standing alone for the last 5 turns at least, parrying away. Couldn't have done it without Lucy's Charge Thurible skill keeping Lian's head above water. Switching Charon's fixed skill to Dark Heal before White Grave boss was also a literal life-saver.

A couple duo teams I like.
Joey + Ironheart
Huz + Lian
Charon + Trisha
Chain + Sizz

I did Twins + Ironheart + Charon today and had a really great run. I love twins + Ironheart because you often end up overhealing with Selena, so the IH passive goes a long way, AND it procs extra damage for Helia's debuffs so every heal that applies lunar curtain ends up doing an ungodly amount of damage while providing barriers - it's insane.
Charon also has good synergy b/c the DOTs provide protect for lunar curtain (which i think also applies the sun DOT as well? Not 100% sure). Still really good synergy & another benefit is Charon can do some backup healing + AOE.

Other than that, I had a lot of fun with a Johan - Joey - Ironheart comp recently, chemical weapon & burning arrow can do some really interesting things together.

Here's some of the teams I really like

Charon + Chain + 2 healers (preferably joey)
offer massive DOT from Charon's encroachment + Chain's fire DOT and her DOT augment (+ Joey's chemical weapon). Quite simple to use, but very effective.

Azar + Johan + 2 healers
Azar's rare skill, dancing sword, works with Johan's fix skill, so you can spam away the arrow and proc the dancing sword every hit. If you also happens to get Johan's rare skill, Mirage, use them together and enjoy the sword & arrow barrage

Ironheart + Pressel
Pressel single target heal is quite strong, allowing Ironheart to heavily boost his skill that get bonus dmg from extra shield

sizz+huz is fun
both cute.
both have good offensive and defensive to mix into their deck which is fun.
just the first area iis a little rough when still building up cards
also somehow got a duo run win with those 2

In my last bunch of runs, I've really been enjoying Johan, Sizz, Narhan/X, X. Almost cleared it just now with those three and Trisha, but last boss took out Sizz too early, killing all healing ability. Frustrating.

The Twins are a weird one for me because going for a Solar Flare/Lunar Curtain deck feels really RNG but if you can get a strong pop off with Ironheart as his Barriers count as buffs for Solar Flare procs + Lunar Curtain giving him Barrier for his skills is pretty dang crazy. You can round out the last member with either Charon or Trisha, preferably Charon as with Enchroachment you can stack Lunar Curtain's sky high (and I mean HIGH) and Solar Flare gives her some scaling with Shadow Pillars. You can also go Joey as he can go double duty as both a regen and debuffer but I personally feel that if you go that route my team lacks raw damage going forward on later stages. Especially at Stage 5 if you get Pharos Leader as you'll most likely lack damage cards to snap people out of being Brainwashed.

Johan + Ilya + good healer (Joey > Huz >> Pressel >> Sizz) + tank. Very good and very fun. Tempest and Hell Arrow pull their weight and seem almost tailor made for an Ilya team, but very hard to justify in other teams. There's the issue of Hell Arrow being underwhelming and bad if you roll it too early, and Drunkenness being completely unpredictable as sometimes if it is sheathed by Hell Arrow, it will use Hell Arrow but sometimes it will use the skill used before Hell Arrow, but it is still fun.
