Clues on Puzzle #41 are impossible.
Okay, I'm reasonably intelligent, but these one and two star puzzles are frustrating. I wound up looking for a clue to puzzle 41. It says that after 'initial moves' R8c9 can only be a 1. R8c9 is a given digit (a two).

It also says that 3 must be locked into two cells. I don't see how, there's 5 cells a 3 could be in with nothing to rule 3 out of other boxes.

After filling in all the possible numbers (and brute force trying it) the clue seems to be referring to R8c8, not c9. Still not seeing how it 'must' be a 1. I have it as 16. There must be 'initial moves' I don't understand. Way to make someone with a 140 IQ feel like a moron.

EDIT: Oh derp. There's a 6 in the corner. I am a moron. Blinded by frustration I guess.

I agree. Hint is wrong

+1 the first hint is wrong. I also don't understand what "3 locked into r4r6c2" means -- does this mean that either r4c2 or r6c2 is a 3?

Yeah, the #1 hint is for sure wrong. I was just wondering that myself. It has to refer to r8c8. Should be bugfixed, imo.
I just did this puzzle and can confirm the first hint is wrong, should be R8C8. The cell it refers to is definitely a given at the start cell.

The puzzle also seems more like a 2 or 3 star puzzle to me. Not due to the number of clues, but how unhelpful most are at solving the simple rows and columns, which were almost always leaving me with cells with 2 or 3 valid numbers but without forming a useful set of pairs or triples that could narrow down other cells. Took a bit of digging to finally find a keystone cell that unravelled all those cells.

The puzzle was fast to solve once I found that key cell though.

If you have to tell people you've got a 140 IQ, you probably have 75% of that.
