-The group of cats lost their friend somehow.
-Cats are sad/grieved, begin playing in this imaginary world to escape the feelings.
-Lumi finds herself unable to do so and sinks into depression and first tries hiding herself away, but then comes back to her friends.
-Things seem great, she feels happy, but wants to stay in this state forever.
-One by one her friends begin coming to terms with their feelings and are able to move on, which is repeatedly said to be what they all were there to do but Lumi can't bring herself to move on and instead of dealing with the pain hides behind a smile and the intention to just keep things as they are in an endless loop so she never has to address her feelings. As her friends move on she feels more abandoned and separated, determined to 'save them' by trapping them there with her but they all move on before she can do so.
-With her friends gone she determines to simply lock herself away from her feelings and the world by staying stuck in an endless loop.
-Side theory: Purple cat(Light in The Shadows) might be the spirit of the friend they lost, and is there to try and shake Lumi out of her depression and get her to move on, which would explain why it's there watching and why it made the cube to make Lumi feel again and all, but not enough information to be sure.
I think the glitching moments are metaphorically her inner turmoil and emotions showing momentarily, like cracks in the mask she continues to wear by smiling.
I also think the story could be expanded and well served by a third entry or a level pack to resolve these things though and to allow it to end on a better note.
