Crashing issues
Just picked up the game, looks fantastic. Without fail, approximately one minute into booting the game, the program closes. Whether in gameplay or idle on the menu screen. Anyone else experience this issue?

To activate it, go to the game properties on Steam and set the beta to new engine test.
I apologize for the delay, but without going into detail, it wasn’t an easy or quick job...
Let me know if this new update finally makes the game work for you!

Hello,
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Do you still have this bug after the most recent update?
Do you see an unreal engine report with the log after the crash?

Same issue, doesn't produce any logs I could find.

Hm, if you define the environment variable OPENSSL_ia32cap as ~0x20000000 it works.
On the GPD Win 3 I had a similar crashing behavior after one minute with games like Bloodstained, the general recommendation was to set that value. Never had it come up with the desktop computer though. Maybe ask the Unreal Engine people what this is about?

This crash is also happening to me. 60 seconds, without fail, the game locks up and closes.

I just picked up the game today and encountered the crashing issue as well. Setting the environment variable fixed it for me.

I'm not comfortable disabling the SHA check for all apps, just because this game is running old code. I'd rather see this game updated to run new code.
Sadly I'm experiencing the issue as well, and I'm a bit hesitant to disable the SHA check too.

I finally managed to bring Forza Polpo to a new version of Unreal Engine (the bug was due to UE 4.17). It took longer and was more challenging than expected, and a few things broke along the way. There might be new bugs too.

Given the early access state of this new version, I m still deciding whether to release it as the main branch
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You asked me on my negative review to try the new beta. I just did and the game closed in the same way it did before, after seemingly a certain amount of time after launch (I was in gameplay in the first level).

I deleted that review because obviously I was wrong about my crash issue being the engine version. Let me know if I can supply any logs (and where to find them) or anything (I didn't see any in the Linux equivalent of the game's localappdata).

I use an unusual PC build since I play mon Linux and use an Intel Arc GPU. So feel free to investigate more traditional players' PC's first.

Could you try launching the game again after updating it and let me know if it works now?
Thanks
I'm using a Windows 11 setup, and I am pleased to report that I made it through the first level without any crashes!
