About the game
Played it for several months. The devs DO have a roadmap and are, so far, keeping up with their promise. With that said, the game as it is is worth your time.

steam with own new servers or join the old servers?
PowPow Jan 16, 2020 @ 11:15pm
Steam players and official website players have same server.

Which promise? The Genderlock? Still nothing done to it. Running down a pointless roadmap with deadborn content and ignoring the players lasted in the 500 active players left on 3 servers lol.
PowPow Jan 17, 2020 @ 7:33pm
Genderlock is promised for EU/NA but but they never gave a date. EU/NA version is only 4 months old. We have 2 classes with no genderlock; give time it's not Blizzard or Square Enix.

Regarding the population, we have absolutely no way of knowing it.
In addition the zones are divided into several instances.
Roadmap included Guild Arena, Addition of Astel Equipment System, 12 Player Raid Dungeon, Raising of the level cap., 3 New Main Story Zones and more ...

So you may not like the game, I have no problem with that but telling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is ridiculous.

Cry for gender lock ... Are you serious? Is it really the most important thing in a game? I prefer that devs spend time producing content (dungeons, quests ...) rather than dealing with gender lock. What do we care about playing a guy or a girl ...

@fouflet
Indeed, the roadmap contains a lot of new content. In particular the raids 12 players which I hope will bring new mechanics ♥ ♥ ♥

Is it opening as a new server and the free game?

for me ? ... no
for many others ? ... no

but that's not the point there

the point is, that there are people, for who this is an important thing

and the thing, which makes this topic important is a simple fact :
that it was promised month before release and even at release, to get implemented within the near future

... that was over 5 month ago already

it doesn't matter, if anyone cry's for it
it doesn't matter, if i or you think, that it is good or needed

the only thing, which matters in this one is,
that the dev's promised it pre-release ... and up until now haven't kept their promise

I am in a bit of a mmo drought and considering trying this, when it comes out on steam, but there are few things worrying me:

Are there any guarantees the game keeps receiving content updates seeing, that the korean version of the game shut down and it's a korean developed game?

It's made on unreal engine 3 and most mmos with that have performance issues. How's the fps?
Pocc Jan 22, 2020 @ 7:57am
Yeah, but thats likely stuff already developed, while korean servers were still up. Most korean developers don't care much about the western market, so have they ever adressed how the shutdown of korean servers will affect the western ones?

Yes Astellia KR closed down because Nexon KR (just KR publisher not Korean devs) didnt renew contract/license for it. So now with current version and steam, all korean players are invited to play West version (i think 300 korean players joined NA server recently, there is even a free coupon for them for 30days you can even use it if you want it is WELCOMEKOREAN).

Barunson EandA US is publisher for West version(steam=NA+EU) which is a subsdiary of Barunson KR. Studio8 is the dev studio for all Astelia versions and is also a subsdiary of Barunson KR. Nexon was just a 3rd tier publisher for KR version, not dev and has nothing to do with Barunson KR/US except the publisher of KR version in past

On the roadmap, Miodan mines was the new content just for West version not in KR, West versions received some QoL patches as well (better UI, icons, more optimizations etc). And for 2020 they promise new content not in KR version too (new level cap, raid for PvE with 12players etc..). I mean compared to Bless and other KR imported MMORPGS from the the past, at least they try to create new content just for the west audience, they are not P2W, i mean its not that bad. For sure there is still some kr leftovers they need to adapt to west market like less rng, no ticket system maybe etc..

Well that's very reassuring

So you personally believe the game is going to stay alive for a couple of years at least?

well, there is content left-over from the korean version, not implementet yet into the western one
[they intentionally held back content at release, to artificially prolong the lifetime of it ... kinda like a slowly downburning flame instead of a big burst combustion]

also, there is some new content announced [guild arenas/12-ppl raid-dungeons]

but that are just words ... nobody realy knows, what can be expected out of that
[will it be fun and engaging content ... or standing around afk, like with some event boss we had ... no one knows]

the same with the guild arena ... the "normal" arena is already pretty much dead and there are not many guilds left, who can put up the player numbers mentioned for this content ...

so we will have to wait and see how it develops

as for the fps ... i never noticed a problem with that
but there are players who had [especially in the early days of avalon] problems with not even seeing the enemies ... or with the players not displaying correctly

i don't realy know how much of an issue that still is ...

but the loading times [when you teleport into another area or dungeon] are rather long within this game ... but once it's loaded ... well ... i never had fps issues

oh and a small, but pretty important edit on that one :

"So you personally believe the game is going to stay alive for a couple of years at least? "

considering, that since approximatly 1,5 to 2 month
theres one and the same goldsell-spammbot filling up the chat

no, i don't believe that with such an attitude it will last verry long

becouse it shows me, that neither dev, nor gm's nor cm's have even once even looked into the chat of this game ...[though, it was reportet over and over again for a whooping 2 month already]

I am excited to see there is an upcoming MMO to be released in a few days. I really miss MMOs, it is sad that nowadays MMOs don't seem to be a thing, we are fed up with BR's, FPS etc.

I know nothing about this game, and i really hope i will enjoy it.
