In my current run I was level 19 at the end of act 4. There's not much for me to look forward to in act 5 as level 20 comes quick
Oh yeah, forgot about that... those levels are from main story events.
Just as a PSA this dude has like 10 hours in wrath, and complains in every thread about random stuff.
Probably hasn't even beaten act one but thinks his opinion is the "Fan opinion"
This is stupid, since the monsters use the same ♥♥♥♥ players can.

Yeah, would be nice if they introduced a lot new spells for players to use. There is too small varienty of spells ingame.
Introducing new spells for enemies to use would be hard because it would break balance in main story if not properly introduced but for players, its easy.
Every school should get new spells, especially lacking spells right now are summoning ones and lack of life skills and create items feats.
I wish we could make our own stuff like epic champions we suppose to be.
Skills and spells are secondary to me, I focus on story impact first. And I constantly feel that there is no real story impact. Just the pages of the book Areelu gave you. Only real choice is at the start if you want to ascend again or not.
Hell would have loved it if the game continued after, and just forgot about the roleplay and went into a grand strategy game. where you can either take everything over until the world stops you, or you try to become the beacon of light. I don't feel like a very powerful demigod at the end of it, I still feel like the stooge of crusades. Also as a leader of an army why limit myself to 6 companions? Why would I make a strike force and constantly put myself at the head of any raid. Where is my tactical approach? Why can't I order men to scout ahead of time so I as a player know what to prepare for before I go out and combat creatures.
So I'd love for changes that improve my submersion in the game, not those that just cater to people getting stuck in character creation.
Strangely enough this is a sentiment I share when it comes to many other games, Kingmaker, BG3, Obsidian games, etc. like it sets you on obvious paths and doesn't allow you to roleplay anything actually unique or approaching a personality, it's a big reason i can't get a campaign off the ground in BG3 right now.
But I don't really feel railroaded at all in wrath, as a matter of fact the writing and story in wrath sets you on "paths" and then actively allows you to roleplay and rebel against them. You can be a Angel who's a huge POS, a bitter and Jaded Azata, a righteous Demon, and every flavor in between. I've beaten the game 5 times and every playthrough was quite ambitious roleplay wise. And I only ever make them more ambitious now because I know the game can support roleplaying complex characters.
What I think you're struggling with is the story structure itself, you have to be the commander of the crusade, and you have to follow the general structure of the story, the only games that exist where you can escape the structure of a story itself are things like DF Adventure mode, Rimworld, etc.
Wrath went for emotional impact and structure over sandbox freedom and I don't think that's a flaw at all, especially since the freedom within that structure is so vast.
