Crusade button missing in act 2

As the title suggests. When I leave the war camp for the first time and having the opening quest in my log, a tutorial window with the basic army management pops up. However none of the buttons for army management are present on screen. No recruit or buttons to switch to a crusade mode. Normal party movement is possible but I discovered soon that I will get stuck because enemy forts are blocking paths.

Reloading to an earlier save did not fix the issue. Any idea on how to force the buttons into the UI?

Did you check the top of the screen, in the middle there should be two flags. Blue with a single rider, and reddish with several riders. The blue is the party, and the reddish should switch to crusade.

I have the same issue right now on PS5. Happened after losing whole army, now I cannot do ♥♥♥♥.

I am currently stuck with a demon fort blocking the way to Drezen, but my army is incapable of going right, or left at this 4 way intersection.. Theres a demon fort to the right, across the river, as well as a demon fort to the left, blocking progress to Drezen. My party can go both ways, but the army doesnt allow me to. No arrows to click, no way to just click the forts for travel, nothing.

I am literally stuck. My party has done everything possible, and are nearly lvl 8, but cannot progress because of this stupid crusade.

I dont use any mods, and never have
