Starting Kingmaker after playing WotR - Looking for a fun Monk build on normal difficulty
Hey guys!
Been playing WotR a lot after christmas, and now that I know the rules, I was wondering if I should give Kingmaker another go. Planning to make a Monk character, and looking for some fun ideas! I'm not a min-maxer, playing on normal or challenging difficulty, more in it for the role play.
Now, when I played Pillars of Eternities, I had a fun monk character on which I took inspiration from Marvel's Daredevil. That was super fun, would maybe like to do something similar but I'm open to successions, if you have done something awesome multiclassing a monk. I think the character would use either his fists or a quarterstaff. Spells? Maybe.

The monk isn't really set on stone either, this is just my first idea - What I want is a fast hitting dps-character with high perception. So other ideas are welcome too! BUT I have completed WotR with Eldritch Knight and am currently playing it again with a sword saint, so those are out of the table. :)

I think you could roleplay a monk as Flash. A monk's movement range increases with his level, so at higher level your character will be able to run around the battlefield in an enormous tempo.

And I personally find the monk a very easy to understand class.
-Have high Dex and Wis (Dex for fighting, Wis for Ki-Powers, both for AC),
-fight barehanded (your weaponstrength of unarmed combat rises through the levels, Attack
rolls use Dex when you have Finesse),
-use all crane skills, to improve your defensive pose
-and your style strikes bring much into the table (you can try to trip your opponent, improve
your damage, ignore the enemies Damage reduction or increase your AC for the
retalliation. And these are applied through a full attack).

Other Classes, which have high DPS and Perception would be Inquisitor, Slayer or Ranger.

I hope this post gives you an idea for your build.
