Rix and Kukris

Granted, I don't have the knowhow or inclination to build my own characters, so I just tend to go with the premade characters and whatever has been predetermined in terms of level progression. Rix appealed the most to me, so that is what I chose.

Bearing that in mind, as we go forward, my question is this. At some point Rix gains the skill "Finesse training - kukri". Much to mi dismay, I discover that Rix is unable to wield Kukris, so what's the point? - Is this something that will be adressed later? I am lvl. 4 at this point.
