Daeran Romance
So story wise, I'm currently after the Battle for Drezen and have completed the Winterrun questline as well as Greengates but have not been to the Ivory Sanctum yet (Hunting down the red Dragon).

My question is this. I've been to this point in the game twice before if not well past it. Once with a Male Barbarian, and a Rogue/Magus and this one is a Rogue/Magus/Aldori Sword Lord. I never use Daeran as I don't enjoy his character or banter, though his remarks as an adviser are good.

I'm finding that in this playthrough, his romance option suddenly kicked in. Like out of nowhere. As mentioned, I've never used him in party aside from his personal quest at Heaven's Edge. I haven't levelled him up or given him Mythic Feats and my character was in the process of romancing Lann.. when suddenly Daeran's kicks in.

So you get the multitude of roses, the bath etc.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Well Daeran like to have fun and you will be his next toy, if you don't say clearly, you are not into him. I think at beginning of act 2 in the camp, when he say goodbye and mentioned he think you are intrigued (but not so much to stay and battle), you can somthing like "you are nice comrade, but not intrgued in him" and then, he will not further flirt with you.

If you say something nice to him at that moment, he will test, how far he can go with the MC. But you can say later, plz stop, i am not interested..

I'm not mean to any of my companions, even the ones I don't use like Sosiel, Greybor and Regill but I'm pretty sure I've never led him on either.

I've played up to this section of the game three times, twice with a female character and the romance never triggered until my recent one.

My character was romancing Lann and that's continued even after Daerun's so it doesn't seem to affect other ones

If you simply tell him that you are not interested in him, he'll drop it without any consequences as far as I could tell. He doesn't end up with a broken heart or hold a grudge.

I for one enjoyed Daeran as a character tremendously - he had the most hilarious dialogue of the game.

Yes, I got to that part and picked Lann over him and while he was disappointed, nothing else of importance really happened until his 2nd quest.

I'll definitely use him and Regil when I re-play the game as an Evil Rogue Assassin.
