(spoilers) Feud of the faithful: Hulrun. whats your favorite unique interaction with Hulrun?
so in the lead up to the quest fued of the faithful in act 1 in kenabres festival square i came up to Hulrun and Ramein arguing but not yet at the point where Ramein is surrounded by Hulun and his inquisitors. well some background info i have ember in the party with me and my character is a woman and a follower of Gyronna. well Ember has a special dialogue where she calls out Hulrun for putting her and her father to burn at the stake well normally in my other play through there is only the usual "how could you". well as a follower of Gyronna my character wasn't having it and a special dialog option appeared and i quote.

" So you hurt the girl and you're so proud of it? you think there's no one to stick up for the poor thing? you're wrong - Mother Gyronna sees all! Seven times seven poxes upon you, you scum. May the flesh rot on your bones and slough off as you watch, putrid and reeking. And may your shameless eyes burst in their sockets!"

well with that declaration Mother Gyronna deemed to set things right. this text comes up. "From Somewhere in the distance, you hear the gravelly laughter of the Angry Hag. the prelate's eyes suddenly become dull and cloudy, weeping pus down his cheeks. Hulrun Says "what's this? Malicious Magic? death to the demon worshipers! this proceeds combat where Hulrun is permanently blind.

This is awesome. I just killed him the regular way, with a pit spell for some crowd control and some critical hits.
My favorite interaction was the time Ember cut him in half during one of the many times I killed him, second place goes to when Linzi (Remade as a Merc) dismembered him in over the top fashion with massive critical for a massive 69 damage: Earthbreakers in the hands of Halflings hit harder then you'd expect

This isn't "unique" but, after everything is said and done, and you're incorruptible good Angel and close to the end, if you kept Hulrun around - the interaction with him starts something like "Hulrun stands to attention and regards you with such reverence it's like you are the Queen Galfrey herself."

“Ember, stop talking nonsense”

Not with Hulrun but good line. And that was my Angel rolling his eyes at Ember.

My favourite interaction is later when he asked me if I was courting Arue in Drezen. I said paraphrasing ‘Certainly not! I have not lost my mind!’, he mumbled something and we went on our merry way.

I played the game twice and in both games I could not resist challenging him at first sight. I do remember I was quite audacious in my dialogue choices which provoked him into attacking him. I do remember thinking "what a ****" in my first playthrough after I killed him. Man, I hate this character.

It is all personal opinion, of course.

I agree whenever I see him he's basically a must kill mainly due to his actions put him beyond the point of saving short of time travel shenanigans with the True Aeon, but since that is a path I don't ever plan on taking its basically a case of me killing him but for different reasons each time, even with lawful characters I'd make they'd view him as breaking a number of other laws to try and enforce his own, there isn't really any character I'd play that wouldn't end up killing him.

I actually disagree, I quite like Hulrun since he's a very realistic character. If you pay attention to what Ember, Liotr and Ramien say about him you can very easily establish that:

1. He is a good guy at heart trying to protect people from the demons.
2. He's an old soldier that has seen too many horrible things happen to civilians and his colleagues/allies to the point that he's grown paranoid.
3. He's an old man that's grown a bit senile.

Even Anevia says that Hulrun told her there are demons underneath the city and she didn't believe him, but he was right. Also in the first 5 minutes of the game, he was very much concerned about you and did his best to heal you despite you being a stranger. It's only after the first healing that he started doing his job (he's basically a cop) and asked you what/who you are and why you are there.

Hulrun is Lawful Neutral because his motivations are Good, but in trying to do Good, a lot of what he does ends up being an Evil act.

He doesn't deserve death, he needs to retire and live in a safe and peaceful place.
