Simply put: i guess it´s just broken.
But i also guess sooner or later some guy will show up who says You should just verify the game files, as the game is super good - and if it doesn´t work for You it´s Your fault, because You didn´t verify the files....
I also don´t run any mods...
Nothing to choose from was with Woljid and his lvl 10 advanced rogue talent, but apparently it only says that it unlocks these, but You have no option to choose one. Why they didn´t make it so that it only shows when You can actually choose one is beyond me.
Also Paladins and Clerics don´t show the new spells when they show a new spell level if You hover over it on the character screen, but they show everything a level later for whatever reason.
But i should stop listing certain bugs here about leveling up, feats, or the character sheet - it´s the enhanced edition after all. So the basics can be broken...
My only worry is that a future patch will probably break my savegame, if they really fix some of these things - so i´m asking myself what the point in continuing it is...
Should also work, no? Choose spell focus, some placeholder feat, choose spells, change the other feat to spell specialization and pick a spell. It´s been a while since i played a mage...
I know the trick you are meaning.... but it doesnt work on this one like that.... Ive tried it already...
Else it´s not really a trick, as they just made it so that You can´t advance and click "next" if You haven´t picked anything, instead of adding a window that You not have picked something when You click "complete". If it was a paper character sheet You could choose the order in which You fill out the stuff for Yourself, even if doing it from top to bottom would probably the common approach, but if You know You pick the spell later, You could easily pick a feat which requires it, while here in game You need to pick the spells first to have them available as selection as kind of being fool proof.
