Mutation warrior 8/Paladin 12
Can it work? It gets bonus feats, fighter advanced feats, mutagen, divine weapon bond and on paladin side imho it loses little to nothing

I think it would be better to go 11 paladin/9 mw. You get your second weapon training at fighter 9. Not sure what you get at paladin 12 other than a mercy

Beast rider 1/Sohei 1/Mutation warrior 5/Paladin 13

I agree. Looks like you do get a second level 2 spell as well as a mercy, but other than that 12 seems like an odd place to stop on a paladin. Better to go for either 11 or 13. If he stops at 11, he could either go another level in mutation warrior or take a 1 level dip into something else.

He is going divine weapon route.

You could take a level dip into Bloodrager for Celestial bloodline.

not terrible, but not a great either. if you think its fun to play go for it... it should do well enough... but its not an "op" build

If you're planning to take Seelah, maybe look into Tortured Crusader over standard Paladin. It has fighter progression as well as bonus fighter feats, so you can take less fighter levels if you really want to go Mutation Warrior while still allowing advanced feats and instead take other classes. And you can dump charisma so it's not as MAD as Paladin. Not sure if it's better, but food for thought?

Ok, but if you're bringing Seelah then a second Paladin is kind of wasted and a Tortured Crusader will bring you a lot more. But I gather you're not bringing her then. Default Paladin would be better then so you get Mark of Justice.

Afaik as i know, mark of justice stacks with smite evil, so having two paladins in the party allows to use one to mark and the other to smite, so one gets a huge bonus in one round....no? I imagine this will be useful in a certain fight at the end of chapter 4, for instance

Ah yea, I forget that Owlcat messes these things up.

Well if you want Damage then Tortured Crusader provides more, if you want AB then Paladin.

Not if you make Seelah a bard or something and treat her paladin level as a 1 level dip. Just sayin. :Owlcat_tongue:

Seelah is great as a skald since she can wear mithril plate and cast spells
