Paladin could work as well.
Mutation Warrior is most braindead, only pop mutagen (10min/lvl) and attack. It will also have a lot of feats so you can waste them with side things.
Deliverer Slayer also works, Studied Target, Quarry abilties, but it needs flanked target.
Demoslayer Ranger has Quarry, few buffs and can have pet or share Favored Enemy bonus.
Zen Archer has just few abilities.
Or you could go the old standard and try a Ranger or a Hunter. That way you get a pet that kicks butt as well as being an archer.
Any class works fine with angel as long as your alignment is LG, NG or LN.
What's the stat spread for classes like ranger or hunter? I'm trying to remember but aren't bows "Str" scaling if you're using longbow?
STR for damage with composite bows and thrown weapons. Non-composite bows and crossbows do not get bonuses to damage from STR.
Hunter and Rangers use Wis to cast spell, note some archetypes can change that.
Hunter gets up to 6th level spell. Ranger up to 4th level spell. So on Hunter you will want more Wis than on Ranger.
Remind me a bit, from what I recall--the level of WIS for a character to unlock their spells is 10 + X (x denoting the spell level they can cast right?) so unless you're a wizard or sorc, you just want enough point to be able to cast these?
Yup. Just go 14 wis if you want to cast all ranger spells. 16 for Hunter. But remember you get a stat point every 4 levels so you can pick up some of those points later if you want.
Paladin-Divine Hunter is an archer who uses charisma.
But another option is to take 'Acolyte' as a background trait. That will let you use wisdom for persuade instead of charisma. Might be a good option for ranger or hunter.
Finally you could just rely upon the Persuasion skill of one of your companions. Its not usable all the time but can help in most conversations.
(Divine Hunter) Paladin. Does not needs to be Divine Hunter but it gets Precise Shot for free.
If you go Mutation Warrior, Rangers or Slayers, you will have enough feats to take Skill Focus and Persuasive feats (beacuse there is not a lot of archer feats, and you get enough Combat/Ranger/Slayer extra feats).
You'll be able to merge spellbooks with angel, so you'll have stupid OP spells while being able to dish a lot of weapon damage with all of those buffs.
