Report a translation problem
I have been in and out of the abyss many many many times. On three separate re-loads from before the Midnight Fane. I spent over two hours on one play through making sure I went through every gate on the map that I could find twice (after clearing out the monsters), exploring thoroughly. I looked up the completed map on a guide because I was super frustrated and the two spots I listed are the only two spots clear on the guide map but not on my map. One spot, According to the guide, requires the three keys, and the other, according to the guide, doesn't open until Chapter 5. I'm playing Trickster and I just killed the priests so it's not like I'm doing anything odd that I know of. The guide even said the Baphomet priest is supposed to drop it, yet all three times I ran it, he never had the key. So I'm super confused.
Regardless, the Baphomet High Priest is 100% supposed to drop the Baphomet Servants' Key. It it didn't something is off. I just did this last week (i.e. Version 2.1.2e), and I had no problems. By default, I presume the glitch is caused by mod incompatibility, but who knows?
The barrier the OP talks about is on the main floor of the fane and can't be removed until episode 5.
Also, just in case, have you looted the body before moving to a different area, save/reload, or any other potential loading screen? There used to be an extremely annoying bug where all loot left on a map was destroyed if you left that map. It wouldn't exactly be surprising if that bug has returned.
