Laggy interface
Hi folks,

This wasn't a problem I had during any of my playthroughs in the past, but since the new DLC I've noticed the UI being laggy. Every button in every menu (including selling items!) has just a tiny bit of delay before the game recognising it. It's like playing a game at 100ms - not a huge problem, but certainly an annoyance that makes it feel sluggish and unresponsive. The game itself is otherwise running smoothly at high FPS and high graphics settings.

Is this a problem other people are having? Does anyone know what might be causing it?

This bug has been reported several times. Be sure to send an in-game bug report via (Alt+B) so they can see what is causing it from everyones files.

Yeah it's an issue with the latest update

Laggy interface was always there (especially on leveling up, if you are multiclassed), it's just Unity Engine thing. Still, you can try something.

Go to steamapps\common\Pathfinder Second Adventure\Wrath_Data

Open boot.config with Notepad.

Delete everything there, paste this:

wait-for-native-debugger=0
hdr-display-enabled=0
gc-max-time-slice=32
gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1
gfx-disable-mt-rendering=0
gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1
job-worker-count=7

See if something changes.

Also, if you are using mods - update Unity Mod Manager (launch it's exe, it will show current and new version if there is any).

"nice" to see it is not just me. Came back to the game today after not playing for about 3.5 months and was slightly going crazy thinking "was this delay here before?".

Confirming it. I noticed it on the selling part. Something with the new patch clearly causing this

I have very heavy suspicion it's Owlcat thing, not Unity. Like... Unity doesn't have any hand in this. I believe OwlCode completely recreates the unit descriptor from scratch for your doll when opening char info / inventory. Which basically means leveling you up and applying all feats and recalculating stuff from zero. And I'm about 90% sure this also happens when you hover over an enemy in Inspect mode which is why it's not very responsive.

Then again it's mostly my impression without actual research, so take it with grain of salt.

The selling lag I believe happens because when you "select" an item you want to sell, the code tries to highlight all slots where it can go (that I know for sure) and it appears to me they added more (very redundant) checks to it due to the new "grip" mechanic.

No, not really. Not in my experience anyway.

Yeah, the leveling screen always got kinda laggy as you added more classes, but outside of that it was fairly responsive. Now though, there's definitely a notable delay on the UI outside of the leveling screen.
On levelling up, sure. I tried a horrible monstrosity playthrough where every levelup had to be a unique class - but after about ten classes the levelling up was so slow that it pretty much crashed the game every time. I just mean the normal operating of the game - from selecting characters to moving them, interacting with objects, and navigating your inventory.
