Boon Companion bugged?

Got a pet for three characters with Sohei and Ranger, unable to pick boon companion for any. It worked fine before, it that a new bug?

Yep - it looks like there is something going on with animal companions and the new patch

Just for the record. You can't get the talent cos the game doesn't "see" your animal companion at early level

My Sellah 1 Pala 1 Ranger 1 Sohei (continue animal companion) could not take Boon Compaion at lvl 3....BUG, but at level 5 i could take it

It's a bug and it is getting fixed, we all know Owlcat, BUT, it is not gamebreaking since it SHOULD fix itself as soon as u get a tleast 3 lvl in a class with a pet

Hope this covers the bug with pet leveling in general. Leveling a pet you get starting from level 1 in the same class like Wildland Shaman works fine. But with Seelah in my latest run for example, I get her to level 5 and pick Animal Companion. The horse SHOULD be able to get to level 5 same as her. But I could only get the horse to level 4.

Ye - like the teamwork feats which aren´t displayed any more at some point. Or when You lose the whole round in turn based mode, because the char does something else than the preview shows - or simply wouldn´t react to anything, because he already did something. Or when like 20 enemies glitch into each other, and stand on the same square in turn based mode, which just slaughter Your guy who stands next to it. Or when You have a question mark in the feat selection, and Your (greater) spell specialization doesn´t work at all - and re-selecting it later wouldn´t fix it. Or when certain people are just stuck on the roof in the defense battle. Or when they fix half of the issues with the carnivorous crystals half a year later. Or certain animation issues with the mounts and capes...

I mean we all Owlcat, they fix it. ASAP. And it will work 100% with no new bugs caused.

Lvl 3 cnat pick boon companion cos the pet is not recognized

Lvl 5 you can pick it up as normal.

The problem seems only with the first few levels, mostly lvl 3

Even then sometimes the pet ends up 1 level below their owner.
I readi it's supposed to be like this in PnP in some cases, but it was never the case in the cRPG.
And sometimes they scale up to level 20 normally, sometimes they don't. So I guess there's something else going on or I'm missing something in the tooltips.

It is just a bug caused by the introduction of the new special pet

it is going to get fixed next week probably

As for now just pick Boon Companion at lvl 5 (not 3 as usual), and if you are pure pet class/multiclass just endure the low level pet until the fix comes

There seems to be a problema with multiclassing too. While testing builds, I was supposed to end with a level 17 Hippogryph but he ended at level 15. Picked Boon Companion at level 5 I think.

Animal Companions are completely broken. Can't pick boon companion, a level 20 single class only gets a level 19 pet etc. Spaghetti code at its finest. If it helps, you can pick boon companion, if you are leveling the companion class.

if i already picked boon companion, after the fix should i toybox remove and re add it?

Haven't been levelling my animal, is that fine to do or better to wait?

it is a known bug, and the fix is in the current update patch due out this week or early next week..

I've parked a current game until this is resolved, it'd probably be OK - but I don't fancy having to restart (again)

If all of this really is related to the new Hippogriff companion (along with the other changes to animal companions like giving them new abilities), that's a shame. The Hippogriff in general feels like something that could have used more polish. In particular I wish the Flying Charge was less clunky to use while mounted.
