1. it's an official monk archetype that is, you guessed it, still lawful required.
2. It's still shown to be a martial arts discipline with a high focus of inner body control (as it still has all of the monk abilities), not some drunken party lout looking for a fight
3. Meh
yeah, that would be an awesome argument if the game didnt Force you to drink alcohol to get the benefits.
as far as i can tell, thats exactly the case.. their drunken ki pool doesnt seem to say anything like 'you must drink alcohol to recover ki' or anything. none of the abilities have anything like that either.
drunken master has always been more of a movement style than literally being drunk.
Because that is what happens when one is drunk.
The whole concept is stupid beyond belief.
Complains about "95% of choices being traps"
Complains about "this class should be worse"
The value of your word is zilch.
Looks like I won't have to, Owlcat commented that they're going to relax the alignment restrictions.
Community liason on Reddit said:
"We've been reading this for a couple of days now, and the team has decided to agree with the players and add a chaotic option and Cayden Cailean for the Drunken Master. Coming in one of the nearest hotfixes."
At least Owlcat sounds like a reasonable and relaxed GM when it comes to "official rules"
That said, technically, drunken masters (real thing) are not always drunk, it's more about an unpredictible fighting style that moves in a way that doesn't seem like real martial arts.
PS: Like one of the earliest jackie chan films, and one of his best, is on this topic. Worth watching even now: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080179/
does this mean that we can dip Drunken Master in Camellia's Build?
