Can't find a quicken rod anywhere. Seems one is in a dungeon later but I could use one now.
I have the hat but 1 charge
Speaking of metamagic, Empower v Maximize. Empower has a chance of doing higher damage yes?
Yes, Empower has a chance of doing more damage than Maximize. A Maximized caster level 10 fireball will do 60 damage. If you Empower it instead, it will deal 52 damage on average, but can potentially do as much as 90 damage (by rolling all 6s). Of course, it could also do as little as 15 damage (by rolling all 1s).
I don't think I found any quickened rods until Act 4. I don't think there is a lesser quickened rod in the game at all. There are at least 2 greater quickened rods and 1 quickened rod. I distinctly remember switch the two greaters out on my Legendary path character to cast a quickened lvl 9 Hellfire ray more then 3 times per day.
I know there is one quicken rod available in Act 3, but only if you are a lich. Its called Skeletal Finger, and can be found in Areelu's Lab.
Too little too late really. It's starting not to matter, stealth on stealth characters is getting high enough to not be ambushed in random encounters. As you may have noticed they do a stealth check every random encounter.
