Also those Shifter+Forester class features stack so he has insane Lore (Nature).
edit: also those Forester pet-less self aspects synergize nicely with the shifter aspect. The Bear+Gryphon one (STR) doesn't stack, but he can utilize the others at will. Basically always have extra CON or DEX as well as STR from the gryphon aspect. I pretty much keep him with the +4 Perception buff out of combat, then flip him to DEX when a fight starts. His Perception and Lore (Nature) are ridiculously high for his level.
I'm playing the Sarkoris DLC now so using him nonstop and just trying to understand what the best tactics are for his shifter class
Also what do you do before his shifter level 19 to bypass DR/adamantine? Equip him with a +4 melee weapon?
Turn into Griffon then go to Character -> Martial page. You'll see all 3 attacks listed there (and any extras you get from Shifter's Fury if you toggle it).
The main inventory page lies for shapechange/polymorph stats. Martial tab is always what you'll see in combat. This holds true for some other weird equipment combos (like helms that allow bite, etc). Always keep an eye on Martial tab.
Yeah I have to remember to do that. I knew some of the info was off but not the attacks.
On the Ulbrig note - is that all there is to the DLC? Gundrun and the small quests related to it, or do you go back? I dealt with all the quests there, forest spirit, etc.
That's what many are saying keep him vanilla.
I'm giving him a few levels of druid so he can buff his natural attacks with magic fang and bone fists
which is a HUGE buff at level 19. With master shifter, the level 20 capstone is redundant, so a 1-level dip should be fine.
Yeah I asked about that earlier. I guess give him a +4 weapon to carry.
Or does Greater Magic Fang equal that too?
Ulbrig is much better going pure shifter. You dont really get any bonuses better then the ones he already gets.
It really isnt worth nerfing ulbrig over it. Especially since amulets/potions/scrolls exist.
