You can read or hear bits that claim that these are great buffs that stack onto your existing AC, but I think that's outdated. I think the stacking of magic armor AC bonus was removed.
Was a serious letdown when I started multiclassing a character to get these spells, to find out it did nothing.
So, if a caster level 8 magic vestment (provides a +2 enhancement bonus) is case on +1 full plate, the armor is temporarily +2 full plate, so the AC would only be one higher.
It may have been changed so that it doesnt stack with an enhancement bonus, it should still go up to +7 with a lich or angel. Maybe even +8 with the caster cape.
However, this game isn't exactly known for accurate in-game descriptions, so I tested via the default Cleric/Angel in Inevitable Excess. Confirmed that scale mail only had a +5 enhancement bonus after the CL 30 magic vestment.
It's (and greater magic weapon ) are far more useful in tabletop where the characters don't have access to anywhere near as much cash as exists in this (and Kingmaker) game.
Adding to this is that its main utility in the late game is to allow any older relic weapons your DM gave you that had interesting effects but low enhancement to still be competitive late game. You can also when you're doing one of the stereotypical "evil monster/s attacking the town" give important NPCs the magic weapon and magic vestments spells so they're less likely to die.
