Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition

When can I expect reasonable sale?
Not that I can't afford it, more on principle;

This game doesn't have full voice acting and it also uses RTwP, which as we all know, is literally the worst way to play any RPG game. I mean, DnD isn't RTwP, it's turn based, unless you all shout at the table at once.

Anyway.

I've been hoping to grab this game for what it's worth which is 90% off for everything. It's not like this is BG3 where it's a full and complete game when you buy it. I bought BG3 once and they never asked for more money or shilled me DLC, plus they used the correct turn based mechanics. This game is only complete with both season passes, which is why the "sale" for the main game, isn't applicable. It's a trick to get you to buy DLC at a higher price in order to price gouge customers.

Why does OwlCat not respect it's players?

Anyway.

So far the only thing to reach 90% was the main game (the beta basically, this developer never puts out a "complete" game, they nickel and dime you with DLC).

I'd like the whole complete game for a reasonable price considering it's mechanical issues and lack of voice acting.

A game this mechanically behind the curve isn't worth what they're asking for. When can I expect this game to be 90% for the main game and both seasons passes?

$23 is too high for what it is offering. I'd be willing to give $7 or $8 though, maybe $10 if I'm in a good mood.

This has many sales. I'm sure it will eventually be very cheap compared to it's full price.

It's right now, isn't it? I just (like one minute ago) bought it for 11 reais (which is about 2 dollars) as part of the bundle with Kingmaker (which I already had, so I got discounted ''more").

edit: Oh, you want it with all the dlcs... how much its the price in US dolars right now? like 3.99? It isnt cheap?? If you have kingmaker, try the bundle and you get a lil more discount.

Do I need to purchase the GOTY Edition to get absolutely everything?

I added the main game, S1 and S2 pass to cart and it seems cheaper (by 4$)

GOTY also includes Paid DLC Commander Pack Premium DLC

GOTY has all 7 paid DLC's included.

There are also like 5 or so Free DLC's to grab

The game lets you change between RTwP and turn based as desired.

Calling BG3 a complete game when it stops at lv 12 because larian was too lazy to implement lv7+ spells... yeah sure. Did people really buy the "LV7 spells break the game so we are not making levels past 12". Even BG2 implemented those same "broken" spells, 25 years ago.

Plus WOTR implements more features of pathfinder that D&D5E pnp has...

The game has hundreds of hours of play and some great storytelling. It doesn't need every line to be voice acted because reading comprehension is vital skill. The game was full and complete without any of the DLCs, the DLCs added more content.

Matter of principle? You want the game 90% off? Sounds like you are just cheap. This is coming from a NE Yankee that buys many things used to save money.

This post is so full of dumdum it's got to be bait.

... game has turn based setting, if no one actually said it. Default is rtwp, but both modes are implemented.

there are 4 campaigns at least. BG3 has one. This is why there is DLC. Through the ashes and lord of nothing are a campaign, main game is a campaign, high level after main is a campaign, and the last one only half counts but there is an endless 'dungeon hack' like mini campaign.

What JS said. Starting with the first few sentences the op is full of inflammatory nonsense.

I mean to be fair there's nothing wrong with ending the game at level 12, most DND adventures don't go beyond that as lore-wise your characters get stupidly OP and the plot would have to get rather ridiculous to still challenge them, especially when we're talking one player having complete control over a whole party rather than having them coordinate. And in an isolated environment rather than dynamic with DM adjusting based on their actions as well as existing metaknowledge.

While I completely disagree on many points with the OP, I wouldn't argue BG3 is incomplete, outside the fact it's adding new classes that really could've been there day 1.

The level does not matter at all. Several of the best games I played ended at level 6-7! I count through the ashes among those, but most of the rest are from before y2k, some by decade+.

This is a practice we see since several years accross all games.
Main game gets a huge discount (50+%, up to 90%), but DLCs get stuck at low discount.
I could name a lot of examples, but just look at games and their sales, as of now there are spring sales.
In case of this game, as a baker I feel screwed as people who buy the game now (Goty edition), will pay less than I will have too. But as a baker, the game would not even exist without me and I still I have to pay more than people coming in now.

This practice is the reason I do not buy games at release any more.
Example: I did not buy Rogue Trader and am waiting for the Goty/Complete/definitive (whowever it will be named) edition.

I wont buy Solasta 2 until all DLC's etc are released and packaged together.

And there are plenty other games I just wait.

Tbh that's just business 101.

iPhones also get considerably cheaper years after their release, only difference there is the iPhone's value drops substantially in those years, while game that was great in 2020 is very likely to still be great in 2025.

Nothing wrong with waiting for a sale if you either can't afford it on release or are not that interested in it, like any product, get it for the price you value it at. Edit: And price you CAN get it for

The price for base game is really good right now (3.99€), but I think the DLC is overprized. If they offer GOTY for 20€ I'd buy.
