Generally Spontaneous casters aren't an optimal choice because your spellcasting is already greatly delayed with a MT build. Also not sure if you can get level 9 spells with both this way. Been a minute. What would be the purpose of taking Oracle over something like Shaman or Cleric. I think both of those would be better options.

MT is a very weird prestige class, honestly i only see use in this for a team that lacks a divine or arcane caster and even then he will mostly be a buffer/healer probably, while it is nice to be able to do everything, you will not be able to be really good at anything as well

My thought is if you're going for Mystic Theurge, you need your 2 classes to have the same casting stat, lest you end up with a very fragile character that can't hit anything because their spell DC is too low.

Charisma is an easy one, go for Oracle/Sorcerer/Theurge.
Wisdom can work but you need to pick Empyreal Sorcerer.
Intelligence just doesn't work since there's no Divine-casting class that subs out Cha/Wis for Int.
When picking archetypes, you need to keep in mind you're not getting their high level stuff other than spells.
Mythic Path choice should be Angel/Lich/Legend. Either combined spellbook on either or enough levels. Make sure to get your Arcane spellbook to level 9 as it has better choices than the Divine spellbook.
It's good for a buffer character, but who wants their MC to only buff?

Doesn't have to be the same. You will have one support caster and one main class which you will use for its DCs. If you're going angel with only CHA you still gimp yourself vs split stats with only prepared casters. You lose 1 additional caster level for having spontaneous casters and metamagic is going to suck too unless you use rods and such. but those have limited per day use, so are circumstantial. I would opt for Wizard/Cleric or Wizard/Shaman. You still lose at least 5 caster levels if you're not going Legend. Of course Angel adds upto 10 caster levels (although that last level is meaningless so lets talk 9 only). So you're looking at 24 caster levels, 23 if you're going spontaneous. Vs 29 for a pure caster. Legend will "fix" it and take 20 caster levels of either or both depending on build. But legend doesn't get much from mythic feats and powers so will generally be the weakest version of any caster build.
I tried teurge in kingmaker and it was useless for 3/4 of the game, past first few levels. 3 levels penalty on sorcerer is owerhelmingly bad and your cleric will loose all domain powers too. Its just better to stick with one type of caster, rather that mix them.

Yea it's really tough earlier in the game. It comes online way too late for it to be any good. You're lagging behind 5 levels in any casting class, so unless you go Angel or Lich (recommended) to make up for caster levels it's going to be very painful.
I played a theurge in an epic tabletop game. I spent most of the game running away from things because I didn't have the spells a character my level should have to counter CRs of that magnitude. I will also encourage you to avoid spontaneous casters for the same reason Razer gave.
