Any alternative to a Shaman for Cam?
Hey,

I've played the game for a while now and I tried a lot to do one thing since start which is a massive struggle and that is to utilize Camellia properly.

I know Spirit Hunter is considered a really good archetype and that as a whole Shaman is a great class to many, but recently I also tried Magus which was actually my first class I attempted in the game and noticed two things, it plays very similar to Shaman, and I struggle to play both in same ways. They just have way too much stuff they need to be doing all the time and in case of Magus you're also getting punished with opportunity attacks for it.

So I was wondering what would be best way to multiclass Cam as far away from Shaman class as possible while still getting some of its early good benefits before it becomes utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, because it gets a bit stale taking the exact same companions with me everytime because Woljiff is an insufferable prick, Nenio is useless the moment word "undead" is uttered, Ulbrig just doesn't feel strong enough to justify him being a huge soak for heals that has super low AC by default, Seelah just can't compete in damage with Regill and feels worse as a tank unless fighting undead specifically too, but thing is I already found ways to transform all those into being quite good (except Ulbrig because his class unfortunately kinda demands he stays it, at best can go mutation warrior/vivisectionist for mutagen), but Cam I have come to realization as long as she remains a Shaman I am going to loathe having her on my party.

It's just too much to deal with generally especially if you're playing a caster so you're already micro'ing Ember & yourself and most likely Wenduag so she actually picks good targets.

So, any suggestion on what could Cam excel at that is NOT a Shaman? I might even use the respec mod for it because honestly it's just annoying that she has really good stat spread but starts with class that really feels like it doesn't want to multiclass at all.

Inquisitor

You get a pet, bane attacks, and uses wisdom and dex which she has in abundance.
Later on, if you feel fancy, give her 5 levels of fighter for effortless dual wield if you're dual wielding on her (for example Kukri or some such).
Pet will suffer 1-2 levels (boon companion for the rest), but I hardly ever get pet to lvl 20.

She won't be min-maxed, but she'll do decent damage, pet will do decent tanking and she'll have essential buffs available (shield of faith, protection from alignment etc.)
On core difficulty, she's good with that alone.

I'm quite fond of monster tactician myself, simply because I like summoning.

Magus is terrible choice for Cam, because you need intelligence. A lot of people recommend rowdy rogue, though I prefer straight rogue. The reason is that you really need a substitute rogue in late act 2/early act 3.
I mean, you don't need a rogue. Camellia's background is Courtier, so she can be good at Trickery no matter what her class is. Arueshalae can also be picked up in Drezen.

not really, shaman is a spellcaster, so unless you want to mod her or waste her shaman lv, there is no alternative, you can however do so but then i would not exspect too much
