Saving/loading times feel get longer the longer I play the game?
Hi.
Pretty much what the title says. Unless I'm going crazy, it feels like the more I play the game, particularly in some more multiple hour extended sessions, it takes longer to quick save and quick load.
The game usually freezes and then after a few seconds, it would save and continue, but eventually it started taking quite 10 seconds + and the game would take ages to load, particularly around places like Drezen.
I tried cleaning my LocalLow folder, verifying files and deleting some older saves, but it still feels like it takes just a second or two too long to save and load.
Is anyone else having issues or is this just part of the game?

I've been playing this game for a while now, off and on. It used to have more issues...but it's always taken "too long" to load. So hard to say if it's worse than the last time it was better.

Any chance you've set your graphics higher than normal and just didn't realize?

My pc is pretty beefy, but I think I'll lower em just be to be sure.
I also went back and deleted some older saves, so hopefully with the new locallow folders, lower graphics and less saves for it to deal with, it should run a little better.
Are there any settings in particular that need should be lowered, like, are they any specific settings that cause some loading issues?

There's an option to erase items when leaving area since those items are still there in the memory.
Someone told me they fixed that issue, though I never had the means to verify. I always destroy unclaimed loot just to be sure.

I'm just guessing here. I'm not using mods and the game works acceptably well, though it could certainly be better.

Was running another game (battletech with BTA3062 mod) and the load times between "missions" were so great that I was finding myself in need of other hobbies while I waited for the PC to load - by comparison, the load times in this game have never been bad enough where I feel the need to go do something else. Playing other games with really slow loading times really gives perspective on how tollerable this game's loading times are.

I would warn you not to save in combat, though. Aside from weird bugs, it has a lot of trouble loading save files that are in combat.

PS: the battletech one is also unity, I think the overall problem is that unity sucks, but kinda too late for either game to change.

Save games get larger in size the farther you are in the game. So yea. Takes longer to save and load.

This is normal. Not good, but normal, for any game that retains a bunch of information as the game progresses. Skyrim has this problem. Minecraft has this problem. Crusader Kings 3 can generate crash reports up to 10 gigabytes in size.

The alternative would be a giant save file that contained all possible inactions and gradually replaced them with actions taken, resulting in a save file that didn't really change in size (always giant).

Aside from always having huge save files, the other downside would be that they'd be insanely easy to cheat by just editing the save file.
