Game should not allow bonuses to happen that dont work.
I have incredible might from azata and heroism as another permanent but you cant have both. Its not like i can tell where i got heroism from maybe it was a book it shouldnt happen. Not a game breaker but it sucks now i have to go save hunting to fix it.

I think all my characters have overlapping bonuses in the endgame, especially when buffs come into play. There are so many, it's probably impossible to be efficient to the point of nothing ever being "wasted", or at least not worth the effort.

Well, you can have gear and items that stack bonuses, but usually they accept the higher of the two. With all the buffs and magic items you have, it is going to happen.

Something of note: there are a few items in the game that will give a permanent +2 to a stat when used (they are consumables). If you use one of those items on a character, another item that also increases that same stat will not work. Ex: there is a tome that gives you a +2 int. There is also a potion you can get from war council that gives +2 to all 6 stats. If you use the +2 int item on your MC and then the potion, you would only get +2 int overall.
Its %100 my fault for not paying attention but you are correct its bound to happen with so much stuff. But it would be nice to have a thing telling me this not after the fact.

If you check your gear on your character sheet, you should see a "!" that you can mouse over. It will tell you what buffs/items are clashing. An easy way to see this is to cast barkskin on someone wearing an amulte of natural armor +1. If you open their character screen, the icon should be by the amulet.

They fixed this. The books are inherent and the potion is an alchemical bonus now.

Good to know. There is also a +4 to all stats book in Dance of Masks, so I will assume it gives the same bonus as the other +2 books.

Both books should be giving an inherent bonus, and those don't stack.
What is the issue here? some things stack and some don't?

There is a combat log you can *learn* from ... makes the game interesting, learning things.
