Prophet of Pestilence as a Main Character.
I'm considering the prophet as a main character, demon mythic path, on my next unfair run. I've seen the build on youtube and found it really intriguing. The issue is i've never actually tried the class before and don't know how useful will it actually be on unfair. Will it really be something to help with most fights in the game? Will it be a chore to handle? Will it be underwhelming and a waste of a mythic path?

I plan the rest of my party to be all melee btw, and my other choice was a Mantis Zealot as a MC. The unfair run will be a long one, so before i commit to it i wanted to hear the opinion of others who have tried this class on unfair. Either as a MC or not.

Looking at the archetype, a tank seems to be a good idea?

Demon Mythic path looks quite good.

Fatal Disease + Aspect of Socothbenoth means enemies would have to roll three times and take the worst result against your diseas spells and abiliites. Four times if you add the Misfortune Hex.

If you go Dex with the "Stiffen Limbs" Plague Mutation you can easily make enemies flat footed, which opens up a big can of hurt for opponents. You can then also cast in melee as they can't make attacks of opportunities anymore.

You could take a Heavy Armor feat and Aspect of Nabasu and Kalavakus.
Raises your AC, lowers enemy AB and their fortitude save so that your Plague sticks better.

Demon also has Contagion and Touch of Slime as two additional disease spells. Necromancy as favored school for sure with that class.

You also got hexes, so you can even add on Misfortune and Evil Eye to really tank an enemies saves.

Second Spirit Battle for Battlemaster so you can Touch attack some nasty poison and disease spell better.

Then just stay in front of the enemy, take next to no damage and absolutely wreck them with your diseases.

I made a quick unopimized test character and a nice 39 Spell Penetration with a also 39 DC that the enemy has to roll thrice at base is going to get past most enemies resistances. And then the Plague of Abandon is going to wreck them.

At least that's what I see when I look at that class. :)
I heard that the mythic corruptor feat bypasses your resistances and companions too which makes the class kinda wonky. A lot of enemies have double (or triple) resistances to the poison condition and then also to sickened, nauseated, etc. and then also resistance/immunity to ability drain or damage. So even bypassing poison or whatever doesn't automatically mean the other conditions are bypassed. Same thing I've heard about blight druid :(

That being said I really want to play this subclass in the future for swarm so lmk how it works for ya.
I tried it a few months ago to test whether synergies with Azata were still active (wishful thinking). Ultimately, after hitting level 20, the disease DC bugged out and reverted to 11 followed by some nonsensical script in the text window. Basically useless.

The class definitely needs to have it's spell list reworked is my non-bug critique.

If you're referring to the Thousand Diseases ability, i saw that it has actually been fixed with the 2.5.0y patch. Which is another reason why i wanted to try this class now.

Yeah, I think the Demon Path is far better than Azata in this case. You get 11 additional disease spells per day that way.

The same double reloll and some nice defensive tools as well as DC upgrades.
