Loot/Bodies Bug

Upon reloading a game after I finished killing a group of enemies, ALL of their bodies and loot magically disappeared. Was planning on using one of the items for a weapon build but now that it's gone, I have to restart the game all over again...

No save games? Quick Save/Quickload? Autosave?
Do you use mods?

No mods, I saved just after the fight. Bodies should have been ready and ripe for the looting. Loaded and nothing. Quit game and rebooted, then tried a load. Nothing.

Was this a random encounter?
Did you check the destroy loot checkbox?

Otherwise it really is a bug.

This was the bandit camp in the second chapter, Nightingale Grove. Killed everyone, went to go loot the corpse for the Momentum Light Hammer but I became exhausted from weight. Re-loaded the earlier save to do some inventory management and go to pick up the loot. Bodies were gone with all the loot upon loading. What a mess...

Was that your only save? It's really recommended to save every 2 minutes or so. And use more than 1 slot for it, of course.
Also, there should be some autosaves somewhere ... well, at least one if you set the maximum number to 1, which is a bad idea ...
I have 5 quicksaves and 5 autosaves, iirc, and save the game extra now and again. You never know when yu have to go back again because you can't continue from your latest save for one reason or another ...
