the thing about summons and portals, do you mean like they don't change map with you? at least in baldurs gate 1&2 it the same, so never expected it to work differently

It just happened to me.
This is, that I can recall, the first time that I've ever seen a bug like that in a turn-based game.
My monk suddenly wouldn't attack, right at the end of a boss fight. I've seen every kind of crap you can think of in video games, but I don't remember ever seeing this one.
Like you said, the timing of it was the worst.
It killed the entire fight.
