You need to take the Weapon Finesse Feat, if memory serves, and you need to use weapons that explicitly state that they are Finesse Weapons.

Weapon Finesse only gives Dexterity to attack rolls. Fencing Grace gives Dexterity to damage rolls with light/one-handed piercing weapons (when you have nothing else in the other hand). Weapon Finesse (Mythic) does it for all finessable weapons.

I think there is another one (Slashing Grace?) as well.

Fencing grace for piercing finesse weapon, slashign grace for slashing finesse weapon. THe mythic weapon finesse also exists (and works for all finesse weapons and doesn't have the single hand restriction).
There is also the fighter finesse training feature + weapon finesse + mythic weapon finesse combo that makes a fighter use dex to attack and damage to a designated weapon type, even if it's not a finesse weapon. It should also work with fencing and slashing grace instead of mythic finesse for onehanded piercing or slashing weapons.

The above options (fencing grace, slashing grace & weapon finesse mythic) all work.

The other option is rogues pick a weapon group to do it with every so often (3rd level for the first group)

When you get bored, install tweakable weapon categories mod to make certain weapons the type you want and get a whole new experience.

Slashing Grace (prerequesites: weapon focus + weapon finesse) gives you +dex to hit and damage with scimitars.

also Longswords and Bastard Swords, basically anything that Slashing grace applies to gets dex->hit as well as the stated effect of dex->damage

Mythic weapon finesse is the easiest way to do it and available to all classes. Certain classes and prestige classes have similar abilities but you don't get twice your modifier, if you have more than one of them.

That takes a Mythic Feat, compared to Piercing and Slashing grace which are regular feats with no class requirements, just need Weapon Finesse and Weapon focus first. they also apply the effect to non-finesse weapons like Scimitars and Bastard Swords (haven't tried Tridents, but they certainly should get the dex->damage at least) which Mythic Finesse can't replicate.

Weapon Finesse (Mythic) also applies to all finessable weapons, compared to Slashing Grace which only applies to a single weapon type and Fencing Grace (which in addition to only applying to the chosen weapon type, requires you to leave your other hand empty and doesn't work with flurry of blows).

Weapon Finesse (Mythic) has no other requirements (aside from regular Weapon Finesse, which Slashing/Fencing Grace also require), and works with all finessable weapons. So if you find another good finesse weapon that is of a different type you can freely use it. Compared to Fencing/Slashing Grace where a weapon of another type wouldn't receive the benefits.

Slashing Grace does have another benefit if you have class features that require a piercing weapon. But otherwise, Weapon Finesse (Mythic) is the better choice.

Scimitars are a good weapon type to lock yourself into: The Scimitar of Wind will last you into Act 5, until you replace it with Dawnflower's Kiss.

once again, Mythic Finesse is never the preferable option if Slashing/Piercing Grace is available because Mythic Feats are significantly more precious than the standard ones. sure it applies to every Finesse weapon, but some weapons like Scimitars do not have Finesse, so Mythic Finesse is worthless. also the game incentivises locking in a weapon type anyway, so unless you want to play the whole game without Weapon Focus/Specialisation, or more importantly Improved Critical, you're not going to be using whatever weapon is the newest anyway. (also because weapons are so standardised in how they function there's very little reason not to just specialise in whatever weapons has the best crit modifier/range, making the broad use of Mythic Finesse even less of a perk)
