If you have, say, 8d6 sneak attack (from, in my case, one level rowdy rogue, one feat, one mythic feat, and ten levels of arcane trickster), you do indeed get +16d6 damage on your vital strike attacks. And, if you catch your opponent flatfooted/flanked, you then also get the original 8d6 sneak attack on top of that, for a total of 24d6 damage (plus 2d4+5 from the +5 crossbow I'm using).
Also, vital strike with a ranged weapon will, for some reason, work with the Azata zippy magic power. But will not use an equipped midnight bolt, alas - need a regular-or-full-attack action for those.
Edit: Unless they've changed the behavior of rowdy rogue vital strike in patch 1.0.9, at least? It's not in the notes, but I haven't actually tested with the latest version.
