Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition

Playing a spellcaster withOUT the precise shot feat
I'm planning to go with a CC / debuff caster who relies on touch and the occassional AoE spells for damage in my next playthrough. Would not taking the PS feat work out okay? Or is it just too much of a handicap?

If you're playing an arcane caster, there's plenty of spells you can use to make precise shot a non-issue. Burning hands, burning arc, fireball, lightning bolt, cone of cold, chain lightning, etc, etc. I specced out one of my characters that way, didn't have room to fit in precise shot. I think the only spell I had where that hurt me was Polar Ray by the end of the game.

precise shot is needed on ranged touch attack spells only. And yes, upgraded snowball AKA polar ray needs it as its ranged touched.
Energy Drain also. Imagine a lvl 9 spell that needs ranged touch roll, spell reisistance and can be save throwed.
Powerword kill is also weak, 101 HP or no effect XD for a lvl 9 spell.
Weird is also DCed... DCs are surrel high in this game, enemies almost always succeed

Also, how is lvl 8 Death Clutch more powerful and less DC prone than lvl 9 power word kill ?

Anyway, lvl 8 and 9 have only AOE and ranged touch spells. Your better off Metamagicking Circle of Death - one of the most powerful damage spells in game IMO

But what would you learn instead of precise shot?
Having played Kingmaker as Sylvan Sorc I had enough of feat points to cover pretty much everything I wanted: improved focus on both conjuration and evocation, spell penetration, precise shot, focus on fire spells, heightened metamagic + a bunch of other feats like focus on persuasion, better will saves etc.
I'm not sure about WotR but in Kingmaker sorcs didn't really need many feats to be strong, so you can afford precise shot without sacrificing anything.
Even though I needed it for hellfire ray only, that spell alone was worth it.

Weird might have a DC, but a good Weird with Nenio has been enough for me to one-tap an entire encounter before. You just gotta beef up that DC with feats and the-... like, 30-odd int she had by the time she got weird. XD

I like taking reach metamagic and the mythic preferred metamagic for it so it turns all of your touch spells into range touch without a level increase. Harm is pretty nice

I don't know about OP, but I had to pass on precise shot cause the caster I was playing was a hot mess.

5 Elemental Specialist Wizard/5 Herald Caller Cleric/10 Mystic Theurge.

That crap took so many feats to wrangle. XD

Weird is easy to land at end game at the time you get it. At this point you've fully abused the hell out of arcane arsenal and used all of those items that conveniently are BIS for Nenio who can sling DC 58 Wierd's or some insane number off of the back of Expanded Arsenal. Without it you still get, DC 40 Weirds. Which aren't working on the chunky targets consistently without party support but is good enough to clear rooms as the first action of battle.
