Chapter 4, final dungeon bug?

Has anyone had an issue where Melazmera doesn't spawn? I read they're supposed to spawn when you loot(or maybe interact?) with the giant treasure pile, but even when I do that nothing happens.

I kind of assumed that if you passed the check to deal with her in the storybook section, she just doesn't show up because you beat her butt already in the sky.

I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but the only time she hasn't shown up for me was when I already beat her in the airship.

I think that'd probably the case. The first time around I chose the harpoon option. Second time around I chose to prepare for a fight, and now she spawns.

This does not seem to be the cause of the missing dragon in your case, but I mention it in case someone else finds this thread looking for another reason the dragon might not appear.

The dragon did not spawn for me even though I did not defeat it on the airship. I was playing a trickster with trickster perma-invisibility (rank 2 of trickster stealth), which causes problems at some points in the game (dialogs not triggering until you drop it, for example), and I looted the treasure pile without realizing that there was supposed to be a dragon encounter there. I later came back with the stealth turned off, but I suspect that it was just too late because there was still no dragon. Looting the treasure before the dragon could detect me may have been what broke the encounter.
