Though the essential differences are already mentioned. Basically a background thing while the most basics are the same in regards of their nature.
FInally, you have Fleshwarping, which is a specialty among Drow cities. Driders are made this way, and are considered beasts or guard slaves rather than someone blessed/punished by their goddess (PF Drow tend to worship a whole patheon of demon lords, rather than focus on just one Drow-related deity of the Abyss.) And it's also used for... creative purposes. As in a Drow Fleshwarper would watch The Human Centipede and dismiss the titular horror as uninspired, before showing of a dozen pieces of "living art" that are several times more horrifying.
