Greatsword users! (some spoilers within)

In act 3 there's a distinct lack of good greatswords unless you're a barbarian/ barbarian angel, or enjoy wielding the very unique modeled numerian thing. Fret not girls and boys, return to wintersun after you've cleared it (assuming your actions led to the wood sculptor being in charge of the city) and go to the town hall (not sure if that's the name, but buiding with the throne) speak to her again and you will find she now has a little shop and a greatsword called "Fatal Beacon." it's a +3 holy weapon that applies a debuff on crit (i don't think it's a great debuff but what do i know)


I assume you would have to return in act 3 but I don't know for sure this is the first time I've ever returned to wintersun to see how it was getting on.

I wish I new this earlier. I lost Finnean (deliberately I let the kid go) in Ch5 and my only other option was a simple +3. Thankfully I was an Angel but still.

And I wouldn’t touch that Numerian thing with a five foot pole. It was sitting in the shop I sold it to, available. Pft!

And yes! There’s a lack of greatswords. Finnean turns into a long sword, radiance is a long sword, Iomedae gives me… a long sword!

didn't say anything about best weapon in the game, simply that there's a weapon available not many of us may know about

Yeah, i wish they would make Finnean into weapon type it was before you free him. It actually even make sense from story perspective.

yes! i kept grumbling this to myself on my playthrough. After I lost him I wound up buying the numerion greatsword back from woljiffs thieflings.

On another note:

Let’s all send a report to Larian about Finnean? If we flood em, maybe they’ll change it?

He was my main characters great sword for 150 hours and then he morphed into a long sword? There isn’t even a story explanation of why. He’s a barbarian anyway.

Why not a suggestion somewhat along the line "in loyalty to the commander Finnean use all his remaining powers to change into a weapon of most use to the commander - when certain conditions are met - for a last time he changes into *yourpick*" ~

the rovagug great axe is the best weapon int he game by far, at least 100% better than the next best weapon, and you use any DPR pathfinder calculator to prove it.
