Alderpash's Phylactery bug?

Trying not to spoil anything, but I've reloaded 10x times now and tried all conversation options (passed all checks) and I still can't get the quest or ability to inspect the area where this should be.

Has anyone else had this bug?

Have you tried going back and just clicking on the magnifying glasses? Although I just did this, I really can't remember if I was given an objective xD

Yeah the issue is that there is no magnifying glass on the item that should have it.. and I can't get the quest via the conversation (thought perhaps that would add a new item to inspect).

I've found out the "clear that it's in the furniture" via passing skill checks etc, but just don't have anything to click. :(

Hmm. Is it always the same? As in are there other ones that say "This isn't ... "? Else all you can do is reload a save.

It only shows up if you refuse to help him. If you accept his help, it doesn't seem to show up.

Yeah I refused and said no to helping, no quest/errant.. killed him, nothing... the option to inspect the pool simply doesn't exist for me.

Even checked using ToyBox and the quest doesn't even exist in there to search/add/complete - however, the quest to help him and his "reaction" to me destroying it does when i search.

Very odd bug...

Could it for unknown reasons be restricted to certain mythic paths/dependent upon something obscure you have to do before or a check that doesn't show up?

I cant find it too. It is not in the water. I passed all 3 checks but it doesnt show up. It doesnt matter if i help him or not. If i fight him or not. Meh............ Lich mythic path here.

Same with the archievement. He has no buffs anymore and i can dispel him 100 times, but i dont get the acm.

Edit: I think i have found the problem with the phylactery. After 3445 reload times i thought "maybe u are not allowed to save the game after 1 or 2 checks and u have to do it without reload between them". Yeah that helped.

Aye, I had the same issue then tried a reload. I had to speak to him in a certain order, not sure if talking to him out of order locks you out or not. But for me I ate the food, then all the options from "I want to know more about you" in top to bottom order, then "Tell me about the Inelectable Prison" top to bottom. I passed 3 skillchecks I think during all that. At this point I got the quest to find his phylacrity. Azata path if that matters.

I know its too late and like necrophilia posting, but we are liches and also can be of help of the next one coming here looking for this info.
I managed to get the mission after few tries, when I did asked him everything BUT NOT "where is his phylcatery", and also passed all checks,

There is a lot of auto skill check, which won't show if the requirement isn't met.
The whole thing is as bug as hell, though.
I dispell all his buff but still couldn't get the achievment.

I just had this encounter - no problems (maybe patched?). I passed the skill checks, asked all questions, agreed to help him (though I had no intention to do so) and found the philactery . But his quest is not only to find the philactery , he also needs an ancient scroll. I had it in my inventory, but I did not give it to him. Probably on the Lich Path you should.

So I did the prison yesterday. I had the quest log show up, and was able to see the magnifying glass. BUT Before I interacted with it, I did his fetch quests and did the Trickster option to let him leave. Now I can't interact with the Phylactery and the quest is still in my log haha.

I thought I could be a jerk and let him go and then destroy the thing later, but apparently it doesn't work that way.

I found out how to manage correctly and gain the "best" result:

1. talk with Alderpash and ask everything you want / need; accept his errand;
2. even if you already have it, don't give him the scroll;
3. go back in the previous room and interact just one time with the pool (so that the magnifying glass become a hand) but not use the hand yet;
4. go back to Alderpash and give the scroll, then continue the errand and give him the key;
5. at the end agree in helping him so you receive the XP and the item;
6. go back to the pool, BUFF YOU a lot and then use the hand;
7. fight him, kill him, take all the loot.
;)

This is working for every Mythic paths.
