unless you want to do the unique azata assault, than yes you only have one month time before the queen arrives
In general: you have all time you want.
Conquista is referring to the special Azata assault which is optional. If you picked that option you can start the assault before the queen arrives.
Once the queen arrives the special option... I am not sure since I never tried that - but the special option gets overridden? I cannot imagine the free crusaders would care about the queen though. But that is better be answered by something who actually experienced it.
However, the Azata has a unique option here -- they can do perform the assault without waiting for the Queen. The assault actually plays out differently if you don't wait -- some of the notable changes are:
[*}There are fewer foes,
All of the above changes are relatively minor, but it is unique content to the Azata path.
This option closes once the Queen arrives -- you can't tell her "Yeah, I know your here and all that, but why don't you just sit over in the corner while myself and my Azata allies take care of things."
So, because you are playing the Azata path, there is a time limit -- if, and only if, you want to see the slightly different "Azata assult on the Midnight Fane" instead of the assault that is available to all the other paths.
If you are content with the normal assault, then there is no time limit.
If you weren't on the Azata path, it would be mandatory to wait for the Queen -- even if this means pressing the "Skip Day" button multiple times.
The only option I have is to start the assault without her by talking to the Hand.
Where did I mess up? Any dialogue option probably?

Hand of the Inheritor: "But first we must gather our strength. I shall send word to Queen Galfrey - her help will be necessary when we reach that dark bastion of the Abyss. The Queen will heed my call and arrive quickly, within a month. You must use this time to prepare to attack the Fane."
Aviu: Aviu desperately tries to draw your attention. [presents her argument to go now]
[Requires Azata Mythic Path] "Aivu is right. [..]"
Hand of the Inheritor: Astonishment rings in the angel's voice. "No waiting, no planning, just gather the free crusaders, and attack?"
(Chaotic) [Requires Azata Mythic Path] "Yes. [..]"
Hand of the Inheritor: The angel spreads his wings, brandishing his sword. "Yes, now I understand. [..] Make haste to conclude any other important affairs, Champion. We'll send word to the free crusaders and bring the fight to the darkness as soon as they are assembled!"
If you said you're going without waiting for the queen, you're going without the queen. Waiting longer wont change anything. Other than the minimum 1 week time, you can start whenever you're ready.
That's just the developers not forcing the player into a real time crunch at that point in case you forgot something. Likewise you can avoid telling the Herald about having the ability to enter the fane (and picking either option) as long as you want. I put it off almost a month on my recent azata run so I could clear up everything I could in my journal.
She'll still show up at the end, being forced to teleport ahead of her army.
One other difference not listed above is that by going early, you'll be able to rescue some slaves that would die if you waited for the queen. And my favorite part is it freaks the demons out that you did something so unpredictable. Irony from chaotic creatures.
