Killing your lover lich path?
so I'am about to become a fully lich but i did not know you had to kill your lover to do it i know you can just not kill them but what are the consequences for doing so and will it affect the over all story anyway if i kill them or not?

You can fail up to one "test" from Zacharius and still have the transformation be successful. As long as you do everything else he asks for, it is perfectly fine for you to refuse to sacrifice a party member, though most will end the romance at that point because they've no interest in a relationship with a walking corpse.

You permanently loose that character.
I killed Arueshalae.
Did not really miss her much as Demalere turned out to be a more useful bowman XD

that's the neat part of ascending as lich, if you have no lover, you lose nobody, but who care of your initial party when you end up with a whole party of undead companions at act 5

Just finished the game as lich and that part was really bugged. I killed Daeran, got the respect of Zacharius, yet he was back again.

I don't know if it was because of a bug, or because Daeran has made a deal with Abadar clerics to true ressurect him due to the Other but it seems to me the whole thing is more related to earn Zacharius' approval rather than an actual lich thing.

For story reasons, you have to do it to earn the respect of Zacharius, it will affect what happens with him during the ending slides, whether you antagonise him after your transformation and I'd assume the ending slides of said companion. For me, the ending treated Daeran as alive though.

Not "most", as far as I know every single companion will break up with a fully-realised Lich, due to the Lich not having skin, or genitals, anymore, let alone actual emotions.

Even Arue in her evil demonic form only says that she loves to experiment, but she wouldn't know "what goes where" with a Lich, and so she declines.

Or do you know of any that would maintain?
