Weapon Finesse with Bows?
Is there a way to get the Weapon Finesse feat (basically through Mythic) to function with Composite Longbows? Or will it only work with non-Composite Longbows? Finnean can only turn into a Composite Longbow (not to mention there are way more good Composite than non-Composite), so I'd like to know if there's a way to make that work off of Dex.

(asking for a Succubus friend)

All bows already use dexterity for accuracy. The only difference between longbows and composite longbows is that composite use strength for their damage, whereas longbows use no stat at all for damage.

I mean use Dex for Damage (like how Weapon Finesse Mythic does)

...alright, this seems to be a bug. I've got Arue with a Composite Longbow equipped and the Weapon Finesse Mythic feat and she's using Dex for damage. But the moment I switch to another weapon it reverts to Strength - even switching back to her initial weapon. Anybody found a way to make this work?

Ugh. For anyone else struggling with this, current workaround I've found is to equip her, save, and then load and it should function correctly. Until you switch weapons. Then you have to do it again.

But it should not work. Is a bug it does. Weapon Finess should only work with light weapons and some named specifics - no bows. So Mythic should not either...

Not for bows, but you can get it for thrown weapons. Throwing Axes are light weapons by default, and you might be able to get fighters finesse for other classes of thrown weapons. From there it's just a matter of getting Mythic Finesse feat.

Of course, while that SHOULD work, I have no idea if it actually does work.

The whole system for Mythic Finesse seems wonky. I nabbed it on Regill for his Gnomish Hook Hammer and he hasn't had any problems (and that weapon sure ain't light). The Mythic feat seems to exist for weapons that aren't light, otherwise you'd just take a normal feat. Either way Dex for damage rolls shouldn't be appearing and then disappearing on weapons - I filed the bug report, maybe they'll give a ruling next patch or two.

(in the meantime I'mma keep using that absurd workaround - Arueshalae is on the hunt!)

Regill has Fighters Finesse for double weapons, so he gets to treat them as light. Also the offhand attack with a double weapon is treated as light regardless.

Mythic Finesse is about adding damage, where the normal weapon finesse feat is about hit chance. There are a few other ways to add dex bonus to damage, but they are harder to get than a single feat and usually only affect a single weapon type (eg rogue's finesse training, amulet of agile fists, or fencing grace feat)

Can confirm the same thing is happening for thrown weapons. Same wonkeyness with throwing axes. Went to take Fighter's Finesse on a Fighter I was trying it on to see if that got rid of it... and the feat wasn't there!

That's because fighter's finesse isn't a feat. It's an advanced weapon training. You can only choose it when you get another rank of weapon training in the place of choosing another weapon group.

You also must have the regular weapon finesse feat to take fighters finesse weapon training.

The finesse tree on fighters with armor training and mythic weapon finesse is a neat way to build a high dex armor wearing build with any melee weapon {not sure if it works with bows). 11 levels in fighter get you a max +6 dex modifier in mithral plate, not op but still kinda cool

Technically you can get it as a feat if you have Mythic Trickster's Knowledge World 3, so the game does treat it as a feat only with special prereqs
