Really don't know how you read them having a friendship. Annevia tells you, flat out, that she was aware of what is going on, but that she knows it would cause issues for the Crusade if she exposed someone as close to the commander as Camelia. She makes it clear that it is your choice if Cam's downsides outweigh her use as a Companion and that she trusts your decision, because only you can make this decision. She will support the decision you make, for that reason.
Annevia is not Cams friend. She is your Spymaster and she knows what is going on, but you get to tell her to turn a blind eye to it, because you consider Cam more useful on the Battlefield than the occassional misstep off the battlefield.
She even tells you that she won't tell her Wife about it, because Irabeth would not be able to see the utility in a companion at the expense of some deaths.
Yes, all of this. Annevia is ruthless in a way that a paladin can never be. I remember my first playthrough I spared Camelia if she promised to keep her impulses under wraps and Annevia basically said "that's why I asked, not gonna sabotage the commander's group when a war's on"
Camelia would never befriend someone lower class than her anyway
Alright I'm just paranoid then lol.
Apparently the chaotic option after you went out of the house is Anevia finishing that piece of human trash off. I thought the chaotic option is simply "KC speaks in a different tune to let Camellia go", as if the game only gives you the sole option of letting her go, in different flavours.
I understand now lol, it looks like it is just she is afraid of offending me for saying that Camellia is sensually savoring the moments of ritualistically murdering someone (like a certain Final Fantasy Villain with blonde hair and has a scythe as his chosen weapon......), in case of the Knight Commander actually like / in a relationship with her. I get that. It just did not sound like that during my first play through lmao.
As Azata I will let her go for it is her freedom to do so and by principle, I can't interfere (perhaps until act 5, need that EXP, baby!). But last run I was Legend (planned to be a Angel-to-Legend run lol, that was a great experience for my first run btw!) and I just killed her outright at that scene, no mercy. I read up about her on the net afterward so I know about her "spirit" and her "passion" lol.
lmao I told Anevia to forget it and she just told me: "Right, mouths shut, already forgotten." So I used to think that she had a "see no evil hear no evil" tune and has a subtle "glad that you decided to "forget" this or we're gonna have beef" undertone, but looks like it was my doing all along lmaoooooo. Least now we got that straight lolololol.
Dude, Anevia's married to Irabeth and she don't mess around like that.
I was just too used to the "illusion of choice" from other games, and I thought that the different answers after you went back out are different flavours of the KC saying: "OK, you persuaded me, I don't want to have beef with you so I saw nothing." The chaotic option does involve Cam getting murdered, that makes me feel a bit better lmao.
Being paranoid does make things worse, and I was quite so during my first playthrough. ^^
