Does anyone know of a Half-decent Summoner build?
So, I know its probably obvious to everyone by this point that summoning spells are near useless for 99% of the game. Even with the mythic ability that buffs them, its not nearly enough for them to even be able to hit enemies.

With all that being said, is there anything that I could've missed? I haven't played in awhile and I'm wondering if anythings changed since I last played. Mostly because I still have fond memories of summoning 30+ soul eaters in kingmaker in the fight versus Irovetti and laughing as he and his entire entourage died from wisdom drain.

the only "summon build" I've found, since most of your main enemies are immune to Creeping Doom's poisons, is an odd one - strong Martial with corruted Soulshear Glaive. Masses of soul eaters is fun, but so is drowning an entire dungeon in two dozen Mariliths...

With the tight corridors and awful pathfinding in this game, summoning more creatures on the battlefield is really situational for me. My base party usually consists of about 8-9 characters already and they already get in eachothers way far too often. Blocking doorways, causing attacks of opportunity or my favorite: block eachother.

Summons have been hit badly in wrath because the enemies are so much beefier now then they were. So automatically have to take augment summoning feat and ascendant summons to beef them up as much as possible and even then they'll be meat shields more then anything.

Still go full caster then angel or lich with merged spellbook for early access to higher level summoning spells and that pretty much it.

It can actually be detrimental to victory having too many weaker summons out blocking your actual damage dealers from doing anything.

true but assuming you want to play with summoning you'll adjust your party composition and tactics accordingly. if you're playing a summoning heavy build your party is likely mostly composed of ranged attackers and spell casters and your summons are there to serve as a wall for enemies while your party members safely in the back eliminate them.

Maybe not the best but oracle with nature mystery is also have some good summoning options if you pick the natures ally revelation. Since some oracle damage spell are from conjuration school, if you get conjuration boosting feats you get to boost your summons. I have such an character on angle path and she is really strong.
