Missing early Arueshalae
I didn't kill Ramien but for some reason I also could not interact with the dresna shrine on the Lost Chapel quest/map. I find her in prision and release her but she tells me I'll never see her again... is it still possible to recruit her later into the game?

Yes, she will contact you later.

Did you rescue the 3 priests in the first city then sing along with them? That is the first step. And yeah, you will get her a little bit into the next chapter. The only thing you really miss out on is if you want to use her in the siege of Drezen.

would I still be able to recruit her if I didn't? coz I really don't remember... my research tells me I cannot interact with dresna shrine because I either a) didn't rescue and sing with them or b) have it bugged out...

You don't have to unlock the Azata path to recruit Aru; you will be able to recruit her in Act 3 no matter what. The Azata path only allows you to recruit her earlier.

I've never missed Desnans/Azata's unlock, but remember reading some post describing similar situation to yours, @bloodnmetal, and that person was advaised to rest outside Drezen in act 3. MC should have a dream indicating new location to meet Aru again, or something like that.

Like I've said - never gone through it personally, but maybe it's worth a shot?

im not 100% certain since I always do it...

but i would think that you WOULD have to do the early Azata questline unlock in order to recruit her in siege of Drezen.... afterall... at the desna shrine you have to play the instruments.... which is you playing the song of Elysium that you learn from singing with the adepts in chapter 1.... AND she also mentions how she senses the touch of Elysium in you as well... which you get from the Azatas when you learn the song in chapter 1...

so im pretty sure that it requires you to unlock Azata path to get her early...

If you want to get her early (in chapter 2) you need to unlock the Azata path. If you want to get her normally (in Chapter 3), you don't have to unlock the path.

Not killing Ramiel isn't all it takes. You also need to find his 3 students, who then teach you the song of Elysium. You need to sing her that song in the Prison for her to join.

^This is the answer. On my first run I saved Ramien and talked to the guys in the chapel but refused to sing because I thought it would lock me into the azata path. On that run I had no option to interact with the shrine. Every other run I sang with them and have been able to do the shrine.

Here, found that thread I was talking about in my previous post:

You don't need to rescue the priests. I didn't do that through my first two completed games. I didn't even know how to do it and the stupid quest was there the whole game but I couldn't complete it. You can free her in the prison but I don't think you don't need to do that because my demonslayer didn't. She contacts you in a game, you do her mission, then if you are careful with the dialogue she is in your party. Obviously don't choose the attack option in dialogue. I didn't use her that much aside from doing her quests.

the whole Azata thing just means you can recruit her from the prison right there in Act 2 and take her as a member of your party.... she has some unique dialogue with stauntons brother, minagho, and Nurrah during siege of drezen.... and I am pretty sure her greengates quest is a little different depending on if you recruited her in Drezen or not during Act 2...

He wanted to know if you could recruit her later. You can. I didn't know about the azata thing because I haven't done the azata path yet. Currently doing demon. Only barely unlocked it but it is redundant with barbarian right now.
