Can't equip bite

My dragon disciple has a bite attack as a primary attack (or at least, not specified as a secondary) however I'm unable to drag the bite icon to the equip menu, nor do my dragon disciple stop using bare fists when unarmed.

Is it supposed to just not work?

as far as I know characters with bite and can bite will bite... no need to equip it.... like when making a full attack with a glaive Nenio will attack with glaive and bite.... or my sorcerer when an enemy provokes an attack of opportunity will bite if its within range even with me having a crossbow equipped...

That's with secondary attacks, like the orc feat or some rage powers.
Dragon disciple is supposed to give me a main attack but even while dealing unarmed strikes I see no bite going on, not even as secundary.
Threw my whole bloodrager+dd build to the trash.

You cannot use natural weapon attacks and unarmed combat in the same round. Not even sure with the way Owlcat programmed this that if you have improved unarmed combat that natural attacks can even be used in human form instead of unarmed combat.

I don't have improved unarmed combat. I hitting with the regular punches. I just want bite as a main.

So, I just tested this and here is the problem. If you don't have a weapon in hand, even though you have a bite attack, the way the game is coded it forces you to make unarmed attacks. Which means, since you cannot make unarmed and natural weapon attacks in the same round, you cannot use the bite. There is no way to "equip" the bite.

But, since you are a bloodrager/DD that means you took a dragon bloodline. At some point in that build while raging you will have claws, so you can make claw and bite attacks.

Game also forces you to use claw attacks first, you cannot choose which of your natural attacks to use if you only get one for the round.

The idea was to have a natural attack while not bloodraging, but whathever.
Gave up on that and I'm rolling a cruoromancer to be a lich.
