Whats the point of the high level bracers of defense?
Like. If you're not wearing armor anyways, you'd likely take the Arch mage Armor mythic feat, because it goes off potions of mage armor / scrolls of mage armor.

And by the time you get the bigger ones (+7 or +8 for example) your mythic rank is already going to be above the level 4 it requires to break even with these items.

I just can't help but feel disatisfied when I find them as loot, because the existance of the archmage armor feat makes them pointless :\

Guess it saves you a feat?

I mean, even the best one I've found is 8 AC, compared to archmage armor that at mythic rank 4 is equal, and just gets better from there.

If you wanted to sacrifice alot of AC for a feat, that's fair I suppose, there are ways to get around it, but at that point why bother using bracers of Armor if you don't care about the AC?

Maybe I'm just knitpicking because it just seems to be archmage armor is just flat out better, and you can basically fit it on anyone who doesn't wear armor easily without much burden.

Just sucks to solve a big puzzle and the big prize is bracers of armor +8.. which no one will ever use because archmage armor is so much better

Sadly, Archmage Armour just makes the whole no armour thing even sillier a second time around ....

Well in the later chapters I noticed that bracers do have added additions aside from the actual AC as well so yeah, doesn't seem like much in the beginning but i have a bracer with +5 armor that adds like +2-4 to weapon dmg rolls and some other stuff forgot what the exact specs were
keep in mind that most items aren't balanced around mythic levels. Mythic levels came after the fact, and so items like bracers of armor were once the best way for some classes to get an armor bonus without magic.

Remember pathfinder was a table top game first... just because one ability makes it moot for this game doesn't mean its useless in others.

In fact archmage armor was never even suppose to be a universal ability, it was suppose to be part of the archmage mythic path. The fact they made it a universal ability was and is a mistake...

I do wonder how many people are not wearing things because of the 'this doesn't stack with that' icon they added, so many things don't stack yet have many other abilites that do work.

InEffect wouldn't use armour on anyone, Mythic or not :)

Oh oops I forgot i was thinking of a glove that gave the +weapon roll but here's a pic of a +6 armor bracer with extra added stats even though doesn't seem like much still pretty decent i'm nearly at the end of act 4 on this playthrough so not sure what kind of bracers they're in Act5-6

good for them? i'm sure they would still use bracers of armor since it stacks with monk AC bonuses.

Why would you use archmage armor when you can use light armour mastery? You'll end up with the same armor amount (roughly) and will have an extra slot for enchant effects.

You could put them on Lann.
Or really any non caster who doesn't want to be weighed down.

I combine it with otherwise low AC armor that has other good effects on it, like this low tier chainmail that also happens to prevent ability damage.

Not everyone gets Mage Armor.

And without the Mythic Feat they can be quite a bit better than Mage Armor alone.

For those who do not take archmage armor, don't want sorc/wiz dip and can't use armor.

Getting that feat for everyone in your party is kinda a waste
