Equalizing Party Walking Speed
Has anyone found a way to make party members walk the same speed? My Lann is a speedy boi and finds himself half the map ahead of the party when walking long distrances and sometimes he triggers cutscenes and battles by himself with no support, is there a toggle or something to have the party stay walking in formation?

In the formation screen, make sure that Lann is NOT the first in, and make sure that "hold the line" is enabled. I personally would also make sure that you have "pause on seeing enemy" turned on in the game settings as well. That way, even if Lann is way out front and sees a baddy, he doesn't get himself into a fight without backup.

Toy Box mod has an option for this. There's no way of doing it in-game that I've found. Just don't click really far away from where your party is currently at and it's not such a big problem.

When you first get Aivu she's got something stupid like 70 speed, so she's at least twice as fast as everyone else.

Hold the line works without the mods

Strange, I turn Hold the Line off - I don't want the whole party moving at a crawl because someone got staggered of is in rough terrain.

Yeah true but better safe than sorry and remove any exhaust on the lead usually tank to make them move faster from what i've seen and keep them in light weight, also the 1h/lvl buff is quite nice if casted on the main slow tank up infront to somewhat make it go faster to ignore the terrain

That only works in combat. The problem is that Lann and Aivu are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast that if you click too far away, they can find themselves in combat on their own while the rest of the party is halfway across the map.

Mine works out of combat as well everyone follows behind Seelah, they never go ahead of her no matter if lann or someone is faster than her or not hm

Then it's bugged for you, because it clearly states it is only triggered when the "attack" command is given, and that's exactly how it works for me.

Yeah was wondering why that was cause Lann is much faster than Seelah but he never gets ahead of her

Thanks all! I'll check it out with toybox and see if that works :)

No. Untill they make "Hold the Line" tick work you just need to manipulate person per person when you need precision movement.
It's good to create 2 formations; one for walking as a tight ball of people and one as your normal one; when making the ball make sure the slower ones are before the fastter ones and tight so the faster ones just CANT pass through.
And use hotkeys to jump between normal and jimmy formation.

And remember that dwarves, gnomes etc. are small so they can just pass through bigger creatures as if they are not there (official pathfinder rule not a bug). That's why Greybor will ALWAYS be up front with his funny Fatman-Naturo run ;p and you cant really stop that.

Or even better: just quicksave a lot and savescum, with how games are made at 10% quality max in the last 10 or so years, you should not really "care" about savescum, devs of every game assume that if you can savescum you will so they long ago began to factor that into difficulty. The main character is part-time traveling alien is a fact of most games. Sometimes very literally ;p

I feel like I must have broken something. Hold the line has not worked in more than a week. Just tried toy box by selecting "party moves at same speed" 60 movement dude is still flying way ahead.......so annoying

Is he in the front rank in the formation icons?
Shadowmail Sep 19, 2021 @ 11:36pm
Him and the barbarian are ahead yes, because they are the front line. I would rather him move at 30 feet a second like everyone else towards his destination.

Sorry I shouldn't have said 'strange' - indeed, I would have killed for this feature in Kingmaker, the amount of times Amiri ran into combat first swinging a Fauchard (reach weapon) ...

Just this time its frustrating as I roll with Daeran and he *crawls* first round.
